Reporting to the VP, HR Operations the Sr. Director of Global Compensation will be a key member of the Global HR leadership team. This position will lead a team of professionals who provide oversight for NetApp’s global compensation programs, policies and compliance.
This high profile role will be responsible for the design, development, implementation and continuous improvement of employee and executive compensation programs at the corporate level. This position will direct and oversee the development of the enterprise wide compensation plans, initiatives and other components of the employee total rewards.

The Sr. Director will develop innovative and competitive salary and equity strategies and budgets, salary structures, policies and procedures to reflect NetApp’s GPTW standing. This role will interact with the company Executive leadership as well as the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors.
This position and the global team will own direct accountability for ensuring and enabling a pay for performance culture and provide world-class tools and metrics to measure overall program effectiveness. The Sr. Director of Global Compensation will seek and act on the business’ input and recognize strategic opportunities to develop long-term plan to make compensation programs a key differentiator as an employer of choice in the current competitive marketplace.
Job Requirements Key Responsibilities:
• Manage the corporate compensation function including development and deployment of the compensation design strategies to enhance employee attraction, retention and engagement
• Develop effective analytics and metrics to influence program direction and monitor business impact and effectiveness
• Lead and inspire the team to leverage their expertise, exceed customer expectations and facilitate change
Provide mentoring and career development to team members to strengthen their capabilities, build functional expertise and
• Foster a collaborative, values-driven team culture of high standards, strong productivity and innvovation
• Ensure compensation strategies and solutions support existing and emerging business needs
• Implement strategies to make compensation a competitive advantage
• Serve as the internal Subject Matter Expert regarding compensation best practices as well as current trends and innovative new tools / methods
• In partnership with the Sr. Director of Global Benefits, engage and connect management and employees with the company’s Total Rewards program
Education and Experience • Bachelor’s degree in HR Business or related field or equivalent experience. Master’s degree is desirable.
• 10+ years in development, implementation and execution of compensation strategies in support of business objectives in a public company
• 3-5 years working directly with the head of HR, CEO and Board (Compensation Committee) on executive / equity compensation strategies and programs is desirable
• Experience with internal and external reporting such as: Executive Compensation (Say on Pay), CD&A, and other disclosures in the company’s annual proxy statements; Form 10-K; or registration statements
• Progressive and scaled leadership roles
• One or more certifications or demonstrated technical experience in compensation, benefits, HR leadership and/or consulting
