The Director, Analytics is responsible for building a strong analytics capability for AbbVie’s Global Commercial organization. The Director will elevate the data-based analytic rigor supporting our global commercial strategies through the development and implementation of performance management standards, impact measurement frameworks, and advanced analytics.

Key Responsibilities Include:
Demonstrate thought leadership and subject matter expertise in performance management and advanced analytics to facilitate greater organizational understanding of the effectiveness of commercial strategies and tactics in major global markets;
Assess and prioritize organizational needs /gaps and opportunities to improve the quality of the company’s information resources;
Contribute to the development of an Impact Measurement capability. Build fundamental measurement skills across the integrated business team. Selectively increase and enhance the company’s use of advanced modeling and analytical methods;
Enhance organizational capabilities in defining critical business questions, hypothesis development, data sourcing, data integrity, data synthesis and model development;
Develop approaches for evaluating Global and Affiliate commercial pilots / experimentation, including impact measurement / ROI;
Collaborate with Market Access & HEOR to capitalize on enterprise data sources, panels, and data bases;
Align Global Commercial leadership on a longer term vision for the Global Analytics organization to develop predictive analytics, forecasting, and resource allocation assessments for the top Affiliates.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities:
Individual contributor role working in collaboration with the Director Capabilities & Analytics and the Sr. Manager of Syndicated & Secondary Data.
Potential to manage onshore and offshore resources, as well as external consultants.

Qualifications

Basic
Advanced degree MA, MS, MBA or PhD (Business Administration, Market Research, Quantitative Methods, Economics or Social Science) required, with a concentration in marketing/sales/quantitative analysis.
This position requires 10-15 years of experience in business planning and strategy development using analytics and quantitative tools and techniques.
Strong leadership skills and a proven ability to work effectively across geographies and with senior management.
This position requires an expert understanding of and experience with pharmaceutical specialty databases, such as IMS, Intrinsiq, Oncology Analyzer, Citeline, Trial Trove, etc.
