Director Penetration Testing AIG Houston

The Director of Penetration Testing will be working closely with multiple stakeholders throughout the information security organization. He/she will be responsible for researching and implementing new methodologies and tooling that can be leveraged to find and remediate security weaknesses across multiple layers of the technology stack. This position requires a deep understanding of how and why tools work in addition to the ability to being able to use them. The ideal candidate is very detailed oriented with strong written and oral communication skills as well as a strong technical background.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Research, document, and teach the latest security assessment trends.
Prioritize assessments based on understanding of the business.
Create and implement assessment framework with clear intentions and business value of the focus of various types of assessments.
Assist in testing effectiveness of proposed security tools as well as tools that are in production.
Co-ordinate with the entire information security team on synergies around proactive & reactive assessments along with incident response processes.
Understand and report on current processes in information security with the intent to simplify methodologies to reduce cost, increase scope, and decrease risk.
Create security project schedules and documentation as needed.
Perform other security-related duties as requested.

Position Requirements:

Remote Location will be considered

KNOWLEDGE , SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Strong background penetration testing and the ability to recognize security weaknesses in source code.
Ability to write custom tooling to automate testing.
Experience in analyzing and remediating vulnerabilities on networks and systems.
In-depth understanding of how security testing tools work and their design.
Up to date knowledge of the security landscape pertaining to new technologies.
Understanding of latest security assessment techniques and the ability to quickly implement them.
Ability to positively influence the behavior of peers and build relationships with other teams.
Self-starter, ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
Requires a college degree
Minimum 8 years of experience in information security related positions
CISSP or other professional designation or certification related to Information Security
