The Associate Media Director will craft and deliver media (digital, social, native, display, mobile, search) proposals, plans and recommendations, as well as actively manage and optimize paid media campaigns in market. S/he is on the frontlines to discover opportunities for revenue growth and optimization that may be going unrecognized by existing teams/clients.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Provides strategic counsel on paid media for our Digital and traditional PR practices
Assumes account responsibilities when working directly with clients on pure paid media accounts: day-to-day client lead, management of meeting timelines and deliverables, develops client relationship, identifies and grows incremental business
Oversees and provides coaching for media planners on media planning/strategy, optimizations, and reporting
Stays abreast of media news and develops relationships with vendors; knowledge sharing of latest product updates and industry trends is key
Successfully lead scoping exercises, crafting SOWs and ATBs (Authorization to Buy) documents, works with vendors to facilitate Insertion Orders and invoice payment, and maintains internal finance trackers
Responsible for career development for junior team members
Become internal advocate and resource to internal senior team members across disciplines
Effectively leverages experience, knowledge of the client’s business and media skills to push innovative and strategic thinking and set challenging team goals and objectives, balancing client, company, and team needs and priorities.
Provides leadership, strategic direction and input for media plans
Draft large client paid media strategies and plans that successfully meets client’s business objectives
Execute and optimize buys through various social and digital platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.)
Acts as the day-to-day liaison between the client and media community; Clients should be able to call them for an opinion or for day-to-day problem resolution without going further up the ladder to get a satisfactory answer
Lead and grow the role of paid media in Chicago but also beyond participating in new business proposals and pitches; increase revenue of core clients
Ensure account profitability and achievement of key account KPI’s
Provide thought leadership and strategic guidance for client’s existing and emerging digital paid media planning initiatives
Promote the integration of paid media services through various internal discipline, offices and external stakeholders

QUALIFICATIONS
6-8 years’ experience in the Paid Digital and Social Marketing arena
First-hand experience with planning and executing digital and social media buys, experience with mobile and specifically app promotion a strong plus.
High level of expertise with Power Editor (Facebook) and other native social ad platforms (Twitter, etc)
Knowledge of SEO/SEM a plus; mobile experience a huge plus
Client service background with strong oral communication and presentation skills
Ability to manage, motivate, and train junior team members
Ability to leverage research tools (ComScore, MRI), search tools (Google Keyword Planner, BrightEdge, SearchMetrics) in the planning process
Ability to successfully manage and grow multiple client accounts
Strong aptitude for back end business growth and new business opportunities
Proven history for growing a media practice that dovetails directly into larger communications strategies
