This key player will be responsible for solving important business problems through deep analysis, implementation of experiments, communication with team-members and senior leadership, and direct project management. Their analytical solutions will guide our experimentation and execution strategy across marketing, pricing, selection and inventory.
You must be a good problem solver, who can not only develop strategic plans but also roll up your sleeves to dive deep into details to drive changes and improvements. You should be capable of handling multiple priorities and working effectively with internal and external business partners while remaining connected with all details in a fast-moving environment. In addition, you should have first-class written and verbal communication skills to communicate and drive decision making with a senior audience.

You should have deep expertise in the design, creation, management, and business use of large datasets. You should have excellent business and communication skills to be able to work with business owners to understand data requirements, and to build ETL to ingest the data into the data warehouse. Furthermore, you should be expert at designing, implementing, and operating stable, scalable, low cost solutions to flow data from production systems into the data warehouse and into end-user facing reporting applications. Ideally you are very familiar with Amazon Web Services including Redshift. Last, and most important, you must be well versed in statistical fundamentals including hypothesis testing in particular. In this role, you will be responsible for design and execution of hundreds or thousands of business experiments in a way that allows us to maximize learnings in the shortest amount of time with minimal resources.
This is not the type of job that can be done effectively in Microsoft Excel. You must have demonstrated expertise in R, SAS, Stata, or other statistical computing package.

Basic Qualifications


This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics or a related technical field, and 4+ years of relevant employment experience.

12+ years work experience with Data Architecture, ETL, Data Modeling, and Business Intelligence delivery.
10+ years experience with statistical analysis, economics, quantitative social sciences, predictive analytics, and/or machine learning
Expert in at least one statistical computing package such as R, SAS, or Stata
Expert in SQL and PL/SQL
Solid Oracle and Linux skills.
Solid communication skills and team player.

Preferred Qualifications

· Effective working in a fast paced and fluid environment that requires strong ownership, bias for actions, ability to prioritize, and deliver high quality results.
· Ability to think and act both strategically and tactically – working with large amount of data, applying baselines and metrics to test hypotheses, quantifying results, developing insights, and generating strategic plans.
· Experience with Redshift and related AWS services (S3, EDP)
· Experience with Scripting language such as Python or Perl
