Senior Program Manager HR Risk and Control Amazon Seattle

Amazon is looking for a Senior Program Manager to build and lead our Human Resources Risk and Control Program! Amazon is looking for a smart, driven program manager to help lead the development of our evolving HR tools, processes and systems. Our mission in the HR Risk and Control team is to design and build the software systems, risk models and operational processes that minimize HR risk and maximize trust in Amazon.
As the Sr Program Manager, you’ll be responsible for building a program to enable our growing business while protecting the company from risk. This role is truly global so you’ll work across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC, building strong partnerships with HR and the business to help them achieve program goals. The role will also have a strong focus on partnerships with technical and systems teams to design, develop and implement new HR systems or controls. Finally, it will also have a strong focus on analytics and process improvements; where we can’t build technical controls, we will need to improve processes.

Specific responsibilities will include:
Build program charter, tenets, vision and 3-year strategic roadmap
Design and implement assessment strategies
Get close to our business teams and incorporate risk controls into their planning activities
Develop policies and draft supporting documentation such as communications, FAQs, process documentation, and other related written work
Document and articulate business requirements to build compliance into our process and systems
Oversee program implementation efforts; Define and establish goals, supporting metrics, and success indicators
Drive large-scale projects, working cross-functionally with designers, software development engineers, product managers, and external partners to guarantee a smooth and efficient product delivery.
Candidate should have:
Experience collaborating effectively across teams to define strategy, goals and commitment to timelines and deliverables
Excellent written and verbal communications skills; ability to interface with all levels of the organization; specific strength in influencing decision makers and managing expectations
Ability to work well in a team environment, collaborate with internal and external resources, gain credibility with senior management, and manage through conflict with a positive, flexible attitude and professionalism.
Ability to recognize trends, assess potential impacts and partner with stakeholders to recommend solutions.
Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree
5+ years relevant program management experience
Experience in matrix management and managing relationships between technical teams and the business.
Experience maintaining project plans, identifying resource needs, and managing project schedules.
Knowledge of Project, Word and Excel, including experience using pivot tables.
Preferred Qualifications

Lean / Six Sigma experience
Experience implementing or enhancing HR systems and processes in large-scale, complex environments (Includes Human Capital Management or HRIS, time and attendance, and/or payroll)
Exceptional analytical skills, comfortable with full lifecycle business process development, comfortable working with large amounts of data and communicating data findings, experience establishing and tracking program metrics including return on investment
Strong systems knowledge, using technology to scale programs and improve efficiencies; experience defining technical requirements and working with systems resources
Strategic view, able to perform cost benefit analyses, accurately assess risk, forecast both long and short-term outcomes, and evaluate the implications in a complex business environment
Graduate degree or MBA
