Senior Director Debit Processing Visa Highlands Ranch
Job description
This role is an expanded leadership position within the Visa Debit Processing Services group, focused on leading a team in the development of products and services to support the Visa Debit Processing business. The Sr. Director, Core Debit Processing will be responsible for developing new processing products and services for financial institutions using Visa's Debit Processing Service (DPS). This position will lead a group of Debit Processing Product Managers that focus on products and services that utilize current and future Visa DPS delivery platforms including mainframe, midrange and Web based channels.
This team will focus on supporting all Network Interfaces including Visa and MasterCard, as well as all supported unaffiliated networks (Star, Pulse, NYCE, etc.) Required concentration is on Visa DPS Core Debit products and services including Transaction processing, Authorization Processing, Card Management, Backoffice, Settlement, and reporting systems.
This position reports to the Sr. Director of DPS Core Debit Processing Services and will interface frequently with senior leaders and other Product Managers in Visa. This role will require extensive interaction with Visa Inc. staff across a range of operational areas and externally with networks, partners, prospects, and clients. This position will be based at Visa's offices in Highlands Ranch, Colorado.
Specific Responsibilities Include
Lead development and oversee execution of short term, intermediate, and long term strategic initiatives for Visa DPS's Debit Processing.
Lead a team of product managers in the definition of detailed business requirements and product specifications for both new products as well as enhancements to existing products. Review detailed technical designs to ensure product requirements are being met. Matrix manage product development activities within the DPS application development, implementation, customer service, training, documentation, and QA/certification groups.
Supervise a staff of Debit Processing product managers and ensure they work in concert to achieve the group's goals.
Participate in managing product strategies and business plans, managing the prioritization, implementation, and tracking of product initiatives.
Insure strategic and execution alignment and coordination with Visa Global Debit Product strategies as well as MasterCard and the unaffiliated networks.
Ensure compliance to all processing and operational requirements defined by the various supported networks on the DPS processing platform.
Responsibility for understanding, reviewing, and providing input to Debit projects being implemented on the platform insuring that any potential changes provide a wide range of client benefits.
Provide SME support for existing and future products and services to both internal and external audiences. Participate in managing product strategies and business plans, managing the prioritization, implementation, and tracking of product initiatives.
Develop and deliver presentations to both external and internal audiences in Working Groups, webinars, user's conference, and other venues regarding areas of product ownership.
Communicate with internal support and sales teams to educate, gather customer feedback, and resolve product issues. Provide product support to assigned product lines by providing support to Client Services and the development teams on product issues. Coordinate with other departments to ensure delivery of high quality products (service levels, support, training and education).
Collaborate and lead interactions with functional areas such as business development, account development, IT development and support, QA, customer service, and operations to develop and provide product definitions responsive to customer needs and market opportunities.
Develop and maintain documentation associated with assigned product lines including Service Descriptions, Product Profiles, RFP materials, and Implementation/Training Guides.
The person filling this position will be responsible and accountable for leading the successful execution of new network features and services on the Visa Debit Processing platform that drive client satisfaction, differentiate the Visa offering and drive Visa Debit Processing Service revenues
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required.
MBA, or equivalent degree, is preferred.
8+ years' experience in product management or product development in the financial services industry, including prior experience developing and implementing product plans/requirements.
5-10+ years experience in electronic funds transfer, retail banking, or card processing.
3-5 years people management and cross functional experience with sales, client management, product, and development.
Proven ability to service and support a range of internal and external customers, often in parallel and within a shifting set of priorities.
Ability to manage multiple projects, with proven leadership success over a wide variety of functional business problems.
Ability to structure, manage, and coordinate complex cross-enterprise projects and processes with multiple stakeholders at both senior and junior levels.
Visa/MasterCard signature processing and Regional Network experience are a strong plus. Deep knowledge of payments processing technology with specific understanding of network payment's processes, systems and applications.
A strategic and creative thinker with a high level of self-motivation and initiative.
Strong analytical, planning and project management experience with strong problem solving capabilities. Ability to understand business needs for clients and be able to translate them into technical requirements.
Excellent oral and written communications skills who can effectively work with clients on strategic initiatives and drive client satisfaction
Proven negotiating skills and strong interpersonal skills to influence network strategies and cross functional team decisions.
Ability to work collaboratively across functions and levels within the organization to accomplish Visa DPS business priorities.
Business travel required.
