Job description
Leads the pursuit of new opportunities, directly managing and cultivating relationships and driving involvement of accounts to achieve ACS mission and income efforts. Accountable for significant income targets. Influences the strategic implementation of local, nationwide, and global initiatives across corporate, social, and public sectors. Ensures goal achievement through the effective leadership and management of diverse staff, and the engagement and mobilization of volunteers. Provides leadership for corporate account managers serves as the primary lead for the CEOs Against Cancer (CAC) chapter where applicable, which includes being accountable for chapter performance, increasing market penetration and engagement of priority CEOs and their corporations.


Serves as the primary relationship manager with responsibility for prospect research, recruitment, cultivation, and retention of CEOs and C-Suite executives of targeted priority corporations.
Works within and across Divisions to assist with maintaining CEOs Against Cancer® (CAC) program standards, achieving high recruiting levels and member retention rates, and delivering against the CAC strategy by meeting/exceeding recruiting and revenue goals (only when this role is required to lead a CAC Chapter within a Division).
Directs and delivers against engagement strategies and opportunities with corporations within the community, and on a broader scale nationwide and/or globally.
Aligns CEOs’ and corporations’ affinities and needs with ACS program of work to achieve individual income and program performance metrics, support enterprise goals, and to further our impact to mission programs and services.
Makes introductions and recommendations for beneficial alliances and partnership opportunities for the Society and among our corporate and distinguished partners.
Leverages volunteers as door openers and relationship builders.
Oversees the delivery of high level constituent experience and recognition programs in order to engage and maintain relationships, such as with Laureate Society and Major Gifts.
Collaborates with Major Gifts staff on the cultivation of existing donor relationships and assists them with executing initiatives, delivering on strategy, and achieving goals.
Works across Divisions to maintain CAC program standards, drives and encourages innovation to achieve high recruiting and retention rates with members, and delivers against the CAC strategy by meeting/exceeding recruiting and revenue goals.
Partners with enterprise support functions to ensure delivery of successful program execution including planning and continuous performance feedback.
Builds strong relationships and directly collaborates with staff within the Corporate & Distinguished Partners team to leverage external affiliations and accomplish shared goals.
Supports the VP, Corporate & Distinguished Partners to ensure mission, top line, and bottom line goals are reached as well as compliance with enterprise policies.
Assists with strategy for Corporate & Distinguished Partners, prioritizes target accounts, establishes ownership, and assesses the competitive environment for corporate partnerships in assigned market(s).
Manages, coaches, develops, and trains a team of corporate Account Managers to meet Division and enterprise mission and income goals; ensures that responsibilities and accountabilities of all direct reports are well-defined.
Responsible for collaborating with Distinguished Events staff to build strong relationships with Division 1 Coaches within the Coaches vs. Cancer program and other influential sports celebrities to deliver on program strategies to meet income and mission targets.
Collaborates on Coaches vs. Cancer program strategies to support income and mission targets, including integration in CEOs Against Cancer.
Collaborates with Community Engagement and Health Systems staff to maximize corporate engagement to meet shared objectives and goals; identifies opportunities to engage corporations in communities and health systems activities.
Works directly with corporate implementation and execution staff to identify success metrics, ensures delivery of quality implementation of programs, and monitors success rate throughout the lifecycle of a program.
Interfaces with enterprise support functions, Chief Revenue and Marketing Officer, and Grass Tops enterprise leadership to ensure appropriate programs and sponsorship opportunities are offered to corporate and distinguished partners.
Works in partnership with ACS CAN, including efforts to increase ACS CAN membership.
Actively demonstrates and cascades the enterprise-wide mindsets: integrity, collaboration and stewardship.
Partners with enterprise support functions and ensures appropriate support is provided for successful execution of community events, including planning and continuous performance feedback.

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and experience, plus a preferred six years successful experience in fundraising, corporate engagement, and executive relationship development with distinguished partners, preferably with a multi-million dollar organization.

Established ability to build and cultivate relationships, and influence strategies and techniques for high level corporate executives, community leaders, high net worth individuals, and diverse constituents.
Knowledge of product marketing/sales concepts.
Outcome driven with ability to respond to changing circumstances and priorities.
Demonstrated success with managing a team of high-end relationship/account managers.
Ability to manage and motivate groups and individuals.
Excellent oral and written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
Strong market, community and constituent perspective.
Broad knowledge of the overall structure, programs, and services of the American Cancer Society including policies and procedures.
Remains composed under stress, handles responses to criticism tactfully and delivers on organizational commitments.
Ability to analyze and integrate information from relevant sources.
Proficient in computer-based information systems.
Excellent project management, planning, and organization skills.
Strong strategic planning skills.


Some travel required.
