Amazon is looking for leaders to join and lead its new Vendor Management Services team.
Retail Systems helps our retail business grow profitably by providing automation and tools for increasing selection, lowering prices optimally, managing in stock, helping our vendor partners in growing their business and getting the best terms from our vendors. This role is to part of the leadership team for a new team within Retail Systems to centrally manage the majority of our vendor relationships across different product categories.
This is a unique opportunity in the industry to define retail vendor management practices with oversight over several hundred thousand vendors across hundreds of product categories WW. You own P&L goals for this business segment but also have single threaded ownership of the operational resources necessary to support these vendor management processes.
In this role, you will provide organizational leadership for teams such as Sales, Account Management and Vendor Management to guide programs around the most important growth aspects. The leader of these programs would need to demonstrate an ability to successfully drive growth across the P&L by defining strategic direction, producing and executing product and operating plans, developing innovative experiences for vendors, and lead a diverse cross-functional team to execute on those plans. You will hire and develop leaders for your team to drive a culture of business ownership, customer obsession, high standards and delivering business results. You will partner with shared services teams to deliver operational performance that enables Amazon and its vendor partners to grow together. Your teams will help improve our vendor experience, grow the topline and reduce our operating costs. Considerable judgment is necessary because you will be motivating others to meet the challenges of an extremely deadline-driven environment where explosive growth is occurring while achieving impeccable quality. Your demonstrated ability to influence large operational and technical teams is critical to success in this position.
The successful candidate will have a strong blend of product management and project management skills with the ability to conduct in-depth analyses, think big and identify strategic opportunities. The candidate will have a demonstrated record of team building and execution in a large volume business environment and be able to lead not only at the strategic level, but also tactically day-to-day by diving deeply into business and technical domains. This requires a person that is very metrics driven, yet has the vision to scale the business.
Basic Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree required.
· Experience managing a P&L
· Position requires 3+ years of successful leadership experience in managing large cross functional teams
· A mix of business and program mgmt experience including P&L responsibility and proven track record of success defining and delivering innovative big ideas to drive long term results
Preferred Qualifications
· MBA degree preferred
· Strong analytical and problem solving skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases
· Decisive, confident, and experience with influencing other senior leaders
· Bias for action, and experience making things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
· Operational support and passion, with experience in establishing, measuring, and meeting service level agreements
. Knowledge of Six Sigma/Lean Processes
· Demonstrated ability to hire and develop strong operations team members and leaders
· Business analysis acumen, with substantive experience measuring the success of a complex business process and proposing new business opportunities
· Demonstrated experience and proficiency in effective communication of goals and strategies across multiple leadership levels of an organization.
· Proven experience in working with large scale technology systems
