We are looking for an experienced Sr. Director, Corporate Open Source Strategy (OSS) who is an open source industry expert that can bring innovation and strategy to the Huawei US R&D Center. You will be responsible for working closely with and advising our senior leadership on the development and implementation of our corporate open source strategy as well as business development / partnerships to support business objectives and key initiatives. Huawei will look to this person to lead the company efforts within the OSS communities by holding leadership roles in the major OSS communities. In this role you will create monthly reports/updates on the open source landscape changes and market intelligence, and provide insight analysis and their business impacts for the company, and provide strategy and suggestions; be the first to know the happenings in the OSS communities, competitors actions in OSS, by creating the open source landscaping tools, partnering and engaging with analysts and consulting companies or individual senior/executive consultants. You will lead projects that require cross functional collaboration and manage stakeholder expectations as well as coordinating input from all major business units to facilitate the integration of individual business unit plans with the corporate strategic plan.

Position Requirements
Bachelor’s degree with 15 + years’ experience in IT and open source with 3+ years in an open source strategy position
The candidate should possess strategic technology vision, and be able to develop new business leads in the open source industry, and be part of the corporate think-tank to provide strategies, innovative ideas, to initiate and facilitate corporate changes, and be the change agent.
Experience working effectively across highly-matrixed organizations
Experience in defining and driving programs
Ability to manage internal and external research and give clear directions and deliver on deadlines
Strong sense of teamwork and collaboration, particularly cross-organizationally and cross-functionally. Emphasis on building solid working relationships
Strong verbal, written, analytical, and critical thinking skills; e xcellent interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work independently and exhibit comfort in ambiguous situations
Ability to maintain a proactive and positive approach to resolving conflict and or business issues
