We are seeking an ambitious Experience Design Director to lead our Honeywell User Experience (HUE) Design for our Connected Building Software Solutions business.
Our team is nimble and agile with limited hierarchy and lots of ownership. You’ll report directly to the HBT Vice President of Honeywell User Experience (HUE) Design Group and matrix report to the Vice President and General Manager of Connected Building Software Solutions. This position will be located at our new Honeywell Software Development Center in Atlanta, Georgia. We're looking for someone who is driven to deliver true customer value, passionate about creating a customer experience and competent at architecting new enterprise platforms. You will be responsible for leading HUE globally across Connected Business Software Solutions. You will collaborate with business partners on developing needs-based segmentation, personas, leading to brand strategies, product roadmaps, and offerings. You will be the voice of design in strategic business and annual operating planning, as well as serve as the functional decision maker for HUE throughout project development.
Additionally, as part of the HBT HUE team, you will work with other designers in eight interdisciplinary studios around the globe. What You Will Be Responsible for:
Leading experience design globally across HBT Connected Building Software Solutions business
Working closely with HBT VP HUE Design Group to implement a design strategy for Connected Building Software Solutions that aligns with corporate objectives
Collaborating with business and technology leadership teams to incorporate HUE in strategic and annual operating plans
Providing a clear, consistent perspective on contemporary experience design practices in our Agile software development process
Participating as the functional decision maker for HUE Design at project reviews and phase gates
Implementing and executing our Honeywell Design Language System, ie, brand identity, that differentiates Honeywell in the marketplace
Contributing to HUE Design best practices throughout the product development process
Collaborating with HUE Design studios to promote an esprit de corps for a growing world-class design organization
Collaborating with Honeywell Research Labs and technology partners on creating next generation user experiences for new enabling technologies

As Director, you will need to have the following talents, skills and experiences:
Strong portfolio of applying user-centered design practices in the development of software applications
Demonstrated leadership experience working with business and technology leaders to set strategic and annual operating plans
Demonstrated experience scoping, planning, and executing software application projects using Agile software development methods and tools
Demonstrated leadership experience leading, developing, and managing experience designers on software applications
Experience in understanding and synthesizing user needs using a variety of design research methods
Experience in researching design trends and interpreting them in brand and product planning
Experience in evaluating solutions using: design trends, heuristic reviews, competitive benchmarking, formative, and summative usability studies
Demonstrable talent creating industry-leading digital designs and implementing across multiple platforms (Cloud, Web, mobile, apps) and complex ecosystems
Experience creating low-fidelity to high-fidelity appearance models and prototypes
Experience directing and managing external design firms and process partners.
International experience working with regional businesses and distributed design teams

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in design or related degree
10 or more years of experience in experience design and product development
5 or more years of leadership experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate degree interaction design, user experience design, software product development, or related discipline
MBA or equivalent degree in software product development and innovation
Outstanding design portfolio of concepts and commercialized offerings
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
Excellent collaboration and teamwork attitude
Fluent with interaction design, information architecture and workflow analysis
Fluent with Agile software development methods and tools
Competent with interaction design and prototyping tools
Experience working with third party suppliers, partners and coalitions
Familiarity with enterprise-level IoT ecosystems
