Fixed Income Product Strategy is responsible for offering clients and prospects connectivity to the investment process, and transparency to each portfolio management team’s autonomous views and investment decisions. Critical to the success of the Product Strategy function is the maintenance of strong relationships with the Institutional Client Business, Global Consultant Relationships and Retail Sales groups, which are responsible for managing and developing BlackRock’s client and consultant relationships. While Product Strategists are typically the client facing portfolio manager, they also involve themselves with product development, thought leadership, and the creation of marketing collateral.

Client support, and potentially client facing representative for our multi-sector investment strategy suite.
Responsibilities:
Possess a deep understanding of our multi-sector investment strategies; understand the PM team’s thought process in order to act as a proxy for the portfolio managers in client facing situations
Attend client and prospect meetings, including pitches for new business, and reviewing client portfolio’s positioning and performance
Follow capital markets, current events, and investment trends; be able to speak to broad macro themes impacting global markets and the asset management business
Partner with institutional sales, retail sales and marketing teams to promote FI investment strategies through the creation of pitch or client review decks focused on FI themes, or a specific FI multi-sector strategy
Produce thought leadership pieces or articles on our investment strategies or on broad market issues
Evaluate performance attribution and communicate portfolio performance
Understand competitive positioning; be able to differentiate our strategies from competitors and highlight the BlackRock advantage
Provide strategic investment advice to clients and prospects
Oversee the completion of RFPs for our multi-sector strategies
Provide junior product strategists with a model to pattern when promoting and servicing our business
Requirements/Skills:
MBA and/or CFA is preferred; BA/BS required
Ability to present and communicate in small or large settings is a critical skill
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills; be able to understand and clearly articulate sophisticated concepts, ideas, and processes
Ability to dialogue on the macro economy, monetary policy, and capital market trends
Be comfortable synthesizing data from BlackRock’s proprietary analytical systems in a way that easy to understand and relevant for client discussions
Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task quickly and efficiently
Self-starter who can work effectively with a team as well as independently
Possess a polished and refined professional disposition
Experience in creating content for marketing materials
Experience operating within a global organization
