The Director - Software Asset Management is responsible for managing the Software Asset Management Program and team for LNLP and RETS. Software Asset Management (SAM) is the process of managing, controlling, and protecting software assets within an organization. SAM includes management of the entire life cycle of software, from need assessment, purchase, installation, and maintenance to removal.
Appropriate management of Software Assets ensures that the company has the licenses for all software it uses, is complaint with all license restrictions and minimizes the financial and reputation risk associate with non-compliance.
The Director – Software Asset Management also manages the software standards of the company and work collaboratively with both Enterprise Architecture and Global Procurement to adhere as closely as possible to those standards. They are also responsible for representing LNLP and RETS in the RELX Software Community of best Practice, working collaboratively with peers across RELX and providing all necessary support in the event of a software vendor audits.
Accountabilities
Own Software License compliance across LNLP and RETS
Lead / Manage a team of SAM Analysts
Collaborate effectively across RELX to minimize compliance Risk
Expertise in Software Licensing and how to minimize risk of non-compliance
Work effective across LNLP RETS to remediate any potential compliance issues before they become issues.
Institute processes and procedures to manage software standards and software licensing
Work collaboratively with Enterprise Architecture and Procurement in governance of the standards.
Respond quickly and authoritatively on behalf of LNLP RETS in the event of a Software Audit
Represent LNLP RETS in the negotiation of Software Enterprise Agreements
Work with global procurement to have an understanding of lease and purchase agreements, software licenses and entitlements.
Conduct inventory of assets on a regular basis for compliance adherence.
Reconcile asset records from various data sources in order to gain a complete picture of assets to software licenses mappings.
Ensure all processes and systems are in place to effectively manage Software Assets across LNLP and RETS.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, technology or equivalent work experience.
10 years related work experience in a business analyst or IT technical role including experience with software planning or configuration.
Project management experience within business and technology environments.
Versatile communication skills with the ability to communicate technical issues\concepts to non-technical people.
Demonstrated success navigating across a highly distributed and matrixed organization
Broad knowledge of or experience with various IT software packages and systems.
Experience managing and tracking software entitlements and Licenses
