Reporting to the VP Operations, Standards and Performance, the Director of Field Training is responsible for the creation and execution of all field training programs and practices for Peet’s stores. The Director of Field Training plays a crucial role in designing and delivering training programs that enable Peet’s café teams to achieve operational excellence and financial results.

Essential Responsibilities:
Developing an annual training strategy and operating budget
Leading a team of store field trainers with accountability for delivering ongoing store training, driving effective operations and meeting key metrics
Ensuring field trainers are equipped to deliver results while inspiring store teams to learn and develop
Designing and facilitating new training programs that support core store programs as well as new initiatives and promotions
Working with cross functional teams and field leadership to identify learning gaps and training needs
Proactively coordinating quarterly training schedules with store field trainers and field leadership to ensure ample learning is available to stores
Creating and executing training plans for new stores
Formulating training plans and determining instructional delivery methods (i.e. store training, e-learning, videos, conference calls, meetings)
Developing training aids such as handbooks, visuals aids, webinars, etc.
Using data to drive improvement of training across key operational areas
Tracking and reporting monthly and quarterly training attainment
Measuring effectiveness of training tools, programs and initiatives and adjusting as necessary
Creating and utilizing evaluation tools to measure the performance of field trainers and evolving the role to meet business needs
Partnering with field leadership to onboard new leaders and teams
Monitoring and controlling expenses through monthly tracking and reporting
Remaining current on training and instructional methodology
Competency/Skill Requirements:
7-10+ years relevant training and leadership experience
Demonstrated success developing a training team in a high growth, customer focused and geographically diverse environment
Demonstrated expertise in creating and implementing field training programs to diverse skill sets
Proven success in a “roll-up your sleeves and make-things-happen” environment
Exceptional presentation and facilitation skills
Strong project and time management skills
Ability to think quickly, make sound decisions, and adapt to changing priorities
Ability to travel nationwide, up to 50%
Bachelor’s degree
