The Director, Global Social Media will break new ground for one of the most innovative, challenger brands in the world. This is a chance to enhance fortune 50 company’s digital marketing strategy to the next level and leverage the unique, authentic personality and humor of the brand to reach and engage our customers in emerging channels.
In this role, you will be responsible for defining, developing and implementing a global social media strategy that spans multiple channels. The goal is to truly differentiate the brand and engage our customers and prospects on existing and emerging channels.

With autonomy to hire and lead a team of 20+ excellent marketers (and growing fast) and agency relationships, you will drive pan-HP social media strategy and champion investment in social as an important marketing channel. In addition, you will lead dedicated team to drive social media listening, analytics and insights to inform content, audience and media strategy. In order to be successful in this role, you must be able to effectively collaborate & gain alignment with cross-functional teams such as marketing, business unit and. You and your team will also be expected to promote and amplify social media content that supports HP’s global brand narrative, yet culturally relevant.

The Director, Global Social Media position sits in the Media, Insights and Analytics organization, supporting the WW marketing teams in leading out global community management, social footprint strategy, and editorial calendar development, worldwide to region to country content distribution, own content management systems, customer listening, measurement and reporting for HP’s global social footprint. Furthermore, the Director, Global Social Media will extend our sponsorships, and TV creative platforms to digital channels and will lead the relationships with key digital industry players (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn etc.).

Responsibilities include:

Lead and develop the overall social media strategy for HP and its brands, to further strengthen community engagement and increase brand awareness for HP’s products from a Pan-HP, customer-centric point of view
Manage day-to-day social media activities including planning and implementing a monthly editorial calendar, coordinating content to support daily posts, and responding to consumer comments on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, G+, Snapchat, Weibo and LinkedIn
Deliver monthly Social Media performance metrics as part of the CMO measurement dashboard
Partner with cross-functional Print and Personal System marketing, Corporate Communications and HR to align on a consistent Pan-HP go to market social strategy and editorial plan
Manage social media team members by providing leadership, direction and guidance; provide appropriate coaching and mentoring for team members to help them achieve their full potential.
Manage relationships with key Social Media tools, platforms and external agencies
Define metrics and performance indicators to measure the success and impact of our global social media efforts
Implement best practices to continue to build social media and digital marketing capabilities
Manage a large team of regional and country community managers
Keep abreast, recommend, and implement new Social Media solutions
Qualifications

Desired Skills and Experience
7-10 years’ experience in Social Media for a brand or agency, 5-7 years in related industry (PR, digital, media, ad agency)
Master’s degree required, preferably with course work in: advertising, journalism, marketing, market research, brand management, consumer behavior
Experience in paid social media strategies to amplify organic posts
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Exceptional analytical skills
Project management and corporate program launch experience
Self-starter with strong organizational and leadership skills

Preferred:
Active social media use, extensive social media presence and followers
Brand marketing and/or ecommerce knowledge
Superior knowledge of Photoshop, PowerPoint, Excel
