In order to support our expanding Communications Consulting Practice, Cognizant currently has an opening for a Director, Consulting. In this role, the desired candidate will possess deep understanding of the cable, wireless and wireline industry and broad business consulting skills to help our clients develop innovative offerings, improve their operating models and execute on strategic opportunities.
The Director will be responsible for developing and expanding Cognizant’s presence in the industry as well as driving revenue within a marquis global client base and oversee project teams in the delivery of Cognizant’s offerings. Working in small to medium sized teams, individuals are expected to bring thought leadership and process to their respective engagements.

A Director-Consulting has business development, delivery and practice development responsibilities. The leadership expects approximately 50% of the Director’s time will be spent building the practice through team development and sales. The remainder of the Director’s time will be spent overseeing the delivery of multiple consulting engagements across multiple clients.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

· Join the ComTech leadership team with responsibility for executing a strategy to increase advisory, management consulting services and drive transformational programs for our Communications clients.

· Publish thought leadership across multiple channels, e.g. Cognizant white papers, company intranet, articles in business and Industry or Horizontal–specific publications, speaking engagements, social media (Twitter, blogs, LinkedIn, et cetera).

· Build senior level advisory relationships with existing and potential clients; convert relationships with executives into long-term consulting relationships that extend across multiple assignments over time.

· Leverage disciplined approach to developing new business development activities and compelling pursuit strategies in support of aggressive growth plans.

· Lead consulting assignments and build senior client relationships.The leadership expects approximately 50% of the time will be spent building the practice through team development and sales.The remainder of the Director’s time will be spent overseeing the delivery of multiple projects across multiple clients (“billable work”).

· Ensure that the quality of the ComTech Practice’s work continues to be truly distinctive through Innovative Intellectual Capital Development with a focus on client impact and tangible results; ensure that the kind of work undertaken is both consistent with the firm’s distinctive strengths and attractive to the firm’s consulting staff.

· Help recruit, develop, and retain other consulting professionals – both new hires and existing Cognizant business consultants - to support the firm’s ambitious growth targets for the ComTech Practice.

· Work collaboratively with other Cognizant practices and geographic regions to ensure that Cognizant continues to operate effectively as one firm.

The Successful Candidate Will Possess
At least 15 years of management consulting experience with a leading consulting firm and a proven track record of success in consulting advising leading companies on a diverse set of strategic and operational issues in the Telecommunications industry
Minimum 10 years of strategy & process consulting; experience with large, complex strategy & transformation programs that deliver demonstrative business value, data driven insight, improved operational efficiencies, and new forms of user experiences and engagement.
Domain expertise in Telecommunications with breadth and depth of knowledge and engagement leadership experience in the Cable space preferably with exposure to the other subdomains
Understanding of Cable business processes and proven experience crafting solutions to address industry specific processes including Product Management ideation through launch Customer Experience Management and OmniChannel Strategies Offer to Cash among others
Bachelor degree required – MBA or Master’s level degree preferred
Demonstrated ability to identify and pursue business development opportunities serve as a trusted advisor and interface with executive level clients
Demonstrated commitment to helping build a practice and proven success in leading growing and developing a successful consulting team
Experience managing consulting P&L and revenue targets along with the demonstrated ability to exceed such targets
Proven ability to operate successfully in a collaborative matrixed global organizational structure
Contributions to thought leadership, publications, white papers and industry eminence
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing technical concepts to all audiences
Ability to travel as required by the nature of the role and responsibilities
