The director of Communications is responsible for assisting in the development and coordination of communications and public relations activities in support of the company’s strategy, with a primary focus on MSG’s financial activities. The director works closely with the senior vice president and coordinates activities with IR, finance, legal, corporate development and other appropriate parties to plan and execute public company communications, including earnings, financial disclosures, transactions, key initiatives, response to crisis, etc.
This role takes part in regular meetings and maintains close contact with counterparts across the company, often representing the communications department, to ensure full awareness of pertinent corporate information that may require public disclosure. This role will develop and distribute press releases to coincide with quarterly earnings and other significant announcements, and may contact targeted media to advance company’s objectives. The director works closely with the senior vice president to develop communication strategies and plans that best position the company throughout the year. In addition, they will support SVP in other areas as needed such as Garden of Dreams.
Qualifications:
This position requires a proficiency in financial communications
Must possess excellent communication (verbal and written) skills

In order to be considered for this role, candidates must have a minimum of seven years’ experience in financial communications, including significant solo responsibilities
Exposure to sports, entertainment and crisis communications is preferred
