Job Description:
VH1 is seeking a Sr. Director, Unscripted Series Development based in East Coast to bring a steady flow of quality and cost effective ideas, projects and formats to the network. S/he will participate in the development and production of concepts through pilot stage and be charged with bringing new series to life on VH1. This Sr. Director will need to have a true passion for and strong knowledge of pop culture / urban culture, sharp writing skills and the ability to self-generate ideas as well be an avid consumer of media on all platforms.
Bachelor's Degree Required
5+ years experience in either television production and development and /or strong track record in content creation for hi-profile pop culture outlets across platforms. Pop culture heavyweights welcome.
Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends when in production and available to travel as needed.
Experience with unscripted shows of all genres preferred and specifically experience formatting concepts or ideating formatted shows.
Proven strong knowledge of reality television, pop-culture, urban culture, comedy in all formats and emerging trends from blogosphere as well as social media including Twitter, Instagram, Snap Chat, You Tube and streaming services.
Proven strong understanding of the Vh1 brand, programming and creative reinvention; cannot only develop but can create internal ideas and have the ability both to execute and expand upon it with the highest quality and standards.
