Job Description:

Insurance for drivers and riders is a critical part of our business and we are constantly innovating around how. We are currently searching for a Legal Insurance Director, with deep expertise insurance regulatory experience to join the Uber Legal Team. You will be based in San Francisco. Do you want to bring your expertise to Uber?
Manage a small and highly skilled team of insurance attorneys focused on North America, South America and Uber’s global risk management program.
Work closely with the Senior Legal Director, Regulatory and Global Insurance and Senior Director, Head of Global Insurance on a wide range of complex insurance matters.
Insurance policy making support, including analysis of proposed rules and legislative drafting in multiple jurisdictions.
Regularly interact with insurance regulators around the world.
Heavy research regarding commercial and personal auto insurance requirements in jurisdictions Uber operates.
Litigation support related to insurance claims and coverage.
Insurance policy form review and bespoke policy drafting. You need to be able to draft an insurance policy from scratch.
Review and draft program agreements, claim services agreements and other brokerage and risk arrangements.
Supporting new insurance initiatives.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR IN YOU:
15+ years of insurance company or related industry experience, primarily involving Property and Casualty insurance, in-house experience preferred with a multinational carrier strongly preferred.
Strong academic credentials and law degree from a top law school.
Qualified to practice in at least one US state.
Spanish or Portuguese proficiency a plus.
Possess excellent business judgment, communication and interpersonal skills.
