Director - User Experience - KualiCo - Provo

Job description
KualiCo, a dynamic new open source EdTech company, is looking for a uniquely-qualified User Experience Director to recruit and cultivate a team of world-class UX professionals. KualiCo builds open source, cloud-based higher ed solutions in a competitive space where users are just waiting to be delighted. Your brilliant creativity, understanding of development processes, intuition and experience with user research will help us build amazing software in a market that really needs it.
Why join us? You’ll get to work with some truly amazing people at a fast-growing, design-centric EdTech startup with exceptional benefits. Our work matters — we’re helping our customers improve the quality of education. You’ll have a significant impact on what we do and how we do it because we are an empowered group of entrepreneurs. KualiCo is committed to open source software development funded by our cloud offering. If you’re looking to make your fortune off a quick flip with no business model, you’d be happier someplace else.
The Kuali community recently celebrated their 10 year anniversary, and they’re rooting for us to deliver something amazing with the next generation of Kuali products. We’re generating revenue and growing quickly with more than 100 customers.
We offer a truly exceptional benefits package including significant employee profit sharing, full premium coverage for employee and dependent medical, and dental care. We offer 401(k) matching, and all the paid-time off that you need (just work it out with your manager). As a company we formally work from home once per week, but working from home on your own sometimes is nbd.

Position Summary
You’ll help create and manage a team of designers who build elegant and intuitive administrative products which help universities and colleges do their business. Modules will include things like Student Registration and Planning, Financial Aid and Scholarships, Finance, HR, Research, and Continuity Planning. Our software replaces cumbersome legacy systems built by big ERP companies. We’re a young company so you’ll also have plenty of opportunity to help shape organizational culture and processes.
