Pandora is seeking a highly motivated, proactive attorney to join our business transactions team with a focus on privacy but with additional work in product counseling and licensing as needed. The right person for this position must be a team player with highly collaborative interpersonal skills. This individual will take pride in personal excellence, display a high level of confidence, energy and possess a proven ability to thrive in an environment with frequently shifting priorities.

This attorney will ensure the company’s compliance with changing state and federal privacy and data use laws and regulations, consumer protection laws, behavioral advertising guidelines and other legal requirements. This position will be based in Oakland, CA.
Responsibilities:
Advise on compliance and best practices across all aspects of global privacy law and regulation, including consumer data use and sharing, behavioral advertising, connected car issues, data protection, data retention, data security and data breach rules
Advise on product compliance issues for the engineering and advertising product teams
Assist engineering, business development and commercial clients on commercial and technology licensing
Provide specialized consultation and support to key functions within the company (Engineering, Public Policy, Corporate Communications)
Assist in the continued development and improvement of all aspects of Pandora’s privacy training and compliance program

Desired Skills and Experience
Minimum of 3 years of experience with privacy and data use issues or litigation
Minimum of 3 years experience at nationally recognized law firm
Previous in-house experience highly desirable
Familiarity with privacy laws, regulation, frameworks and self-regulatory models
Exceptional oral and written communications skills
Proactive leader with strong influencer skills and superior implementation skills
Commercial and technology transactions experience is a plus
Technical or related degree preferred
