Job Description:
The Director of Social Media is a key member of Citi's Global Public Affairs group. Global Public Affairs seeks to protect and enhance the reputation of Citi, its businesses and the brand across the world through direct and indirect communication with Citi's various stakeholders. Working with partners throughout the organization, the Director of Social Media will build and drive communications efforts that proactively help tell the Citi story, defend its reputation, support major citizenship and sponsorship campaigns and engage employees. In addition, the director will manage a team of professionals and coordinate closely with business and regional groups.
Responsibilities:


Build and develop social media communications in support of global public affairs efforts.

Expand and drive forward influencer engagement leveraging subject-matter experts,.

Enhance monitoring capabilities is key areas and proactively develop engagement strategies on key issues.

Develop social media campaigns aligned to brand sponsorship, citizenship and thought leadership efforts and manage paid media budget in support of these programs.

Manage additional budget in support of projects including agency and vendor management.

Lead team of professionals including their development, retention and hiring.

Work collaboratively with other social media teams across business marketing and regional groups and ensure alignment and coordination.

Partner closely with teams across global public affairs including communications, brand, citizenship and government affairs.

Lead governance of social media framework working closely with legal and compliance.

Qualifications



Minimum 6-8 years of experience in social media supporting reputation management, communications and brand marketing.

Exceptional writing skills, able to clearly communicate complex issues into social media forums.

Highly articulate and strong presentation skills.

Comfortable in large matrix organizations.

Strong negotiation and leadership skills.

Balanced approach, developing both new areas of work while maintaining critical activities.

Excellent project management skills.

Comfortable with data, analytics and metrics.

Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or related field.
