Director Operational Excellence Groupon San Francisco

Job Description:
We’re adding multiple Directors, Operational Excellence to the team at our San Francisco, CA location.
Core Responsibilities
Design and deliver the tools to manage procurement, fulfillment and the overall customer experience.
Provide solutions using operational best practices, scalable technology, insightful analytical tools, financial controls and key strategic business partner relationships.

Work with Product Development, Customer Service, Merchandising, 3PL's, Sellers and Finance teams for business development of new products and services based on operations analysis and research.
Investigate and identify root causes of process performance drivers; correct or develop new processes in order to achieve improved performance.
Develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
Apply control procedures resulting in permanent corrective action, yield, and productivity improvement.
Develop and monitor key operational, financial, and historical metrics to measure the business and improve operating processes.
Develop documentation of new and current internal processes for producing products and services in order to identify and develop the key opportunities to improve throughput and efficiencies.
Identify and make recommendations on projects/process initiatives based on developing targeted solutions to meet the specific needs (i.e. reduce cycle time/reduce costs).
Develop cycle time that achieves shipping times of 5 days or less over a 6 month period.
Root cause analysis and problem resolution for all logistics operations.
Synthesize business intelligence and trend data to support project recommendations to business and product teams.
Requires infrequent domestic travel to Groupon offices.
May supervise 2-5 employees.

Qualifications

Employer requires a Master's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related analytical field, and 2 years of technical experience in analytical problem solving within project delivery and site operations environment, or related. Employer will also accept a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related analytical field and 5 year of technical experience in analytical problem solving within project delivery and site operations environment or related.

Work Experience Must Have Included
(1) 2 years of experience in product management, including coordinating with internal partners and customers;
(2) 2 years of experience with supply chain automation and drop ship automation systems;
(3) 2 years of progressive experience in developing process improvement initiatives;
(4) 2 years of experience conducting presentations and managing people;
(5) Documented track record of creating and executing project plans that drive change and deliver results;
(6) Big data project life-cycles and requirements;
(7) Managing data warehouse projects;
(8) EDI, Teradata, SQL, or Business Objects; and
(9) Creating and releasing tools for vendors and internal business.
