As the Senior Technical Director, Innovation & Prototyping for LATAM, you will be part of the Visa Innovation team that is shaping the global landscape for digital payments leveraging Visa’s APIs and Visa Global Payments Network Platform being opened to developers around the world. You will develop and lead client-facing activities related to collaboration, co-creation, co-development and prototyping of meaningful and frictionless payment solutions with key clients in the region to respond to the increasing customers’ needs.
The Role Will Bring
Deep passion for emerging and disruptive technologies, payments landscape, clients’ and customers’ needs and latent demand in their respective industries
Experience in building, managing and motivating a high performance team of data scientists, engineers, UX designers and software developers
Proven ability at driving client engagement for development and delivery of new prototypes or solutions, leveraging Visa’s capabilities and assets
Experience in engaging and managing people and resources across a matrix organization and in driving technical or prototype oriented outputs that are valuable for partners and clients
Responsibilities
Drive delivery and development of prototype solutions based on innovation themes in the market, Visa capabilities and priorities and client needs
Build a co-creation delivery methodology, in conjunction with technology teams and the Sr. Director Engagement
Scan start-up ecosystem and fintechs to identify solutions that can be accelerated to scale for client/partner needs
Program-manage execution of co-creation projects and be voice of client/partner in the development process
Build and leverage Visa-internal network to identify assets that can be showcased, and source new ideas for concepts and prototyping
Engage with various Visa internal groups in technology, risk, marketing, products, IP, etc. to drive collaboration, access and permissions to deliver co-creation prototypes
Design and deliver innovation and co-creation success metrics
Qualifications
10-12+ years of experience in product building, software delivery and deployment, focused on strategy, technology, data and payments.
Strong understanding of software development cycles, product development and rapid prototyping capabilities. Experience with APIs integration, customization and SDKs.
Successful track record of designing, delivering and managing solutions within leading data and technology companies and an agile environment.
Proven experience in managing interfaces to technology development groups, data scientists and other technical teams in order to translate business needs to deliverables of prototypes
Proven experience in building successful teams and managing complex, cross-functional projects across internal and external organizations.
Good understanding of trends and themes in payments and commerce. Prior experience working with payments or commerce companies, technology companies focusing on delivering fast solution to market preferred.
Fluent in Spanish. Fluency in Portuguese a desired asset
Bachelor or Master Degree in quantitative disciplines (Computer science, Engineering, Math, statistics). MBA is a plus
