Job Description:
The MU Director of Sales, Combo Store leads the execution of sales initiatives through the MU Sales Management team. Directly manages the core functions of Large/Small Store field execution team. Accountable for the Merchandising function. Accountable for People development and is an importer/exporter of talent.
Complexity
DOUBLE the amount of customers and routines as Large and Small are blended. Priorities come out channel specific therefore, the Combo Director has to break down the information by channel to mobilize the workforce to execute deliverables. Overall responsibility and scope of impact is significant (Retail sales $ and has more headcount as org includes Merchandising organization (hourly, union/non-union workforce).

Customer SME in the field
Key role in providing feedback and point of view on what will work/not work. Feedback given to National and Regional Customer teams. Interacts with Customer Care to provide the best customer service to our customers

Field Sales Execution
The Director of Sales Combo Store will have full responsibility for sales execution in all local, regional and national Large and Small store home market accounts.
Outlet level of responsibility for the execution of all sales priorities, e.g., RED, SMO, Merchandising Optimization.
Manage merchandising expectations ensure alignment with CCR and customer expectations People Management
Responsible for identifying and developing core talent, including stewarding the People Development Forum for the MU Large and Small Store selling organization
Coach and develop the team of direct reports while ensuring a culture of learning and development exists throughout the MU organization
Leader of Leaders Customer Management
Responsible for relationships with large and small home market accounts serving as the connection point with the VP level of store operations as well as some region/district level relationships.
Responsible for relationship with Customer teams and Sales operations teams.
Accountable for selling in and adherence to calendar marketing agreements. Provide feedback to the national customer teams.
Small store sales includes deal negotiations. Supply Chain
Drives collaboration between supply chain and field sales execution including sales / delivery route planning
Serves as key enabler for Supply Chain initiatives Commercial Leadership
Execute and fulfill all channel, package and pricing plans provided by the Commercial Leadership COE
Provide a feedback loop to the MUVP on marketplace conditions (includes competition, channel plans, pricing, architecture) Community & Government Relations
Represent Company in local government / community forums, as needed, on issues that impact our business
Drive Live Positively initiatives in field
Provide inspirational leadership and ensure execution of all engagement initiatives (e.g., Town Halls) across the MU to drive strong employee engagement

Requirements

Edudation Required
BS/BA (or equivalent) Preferred
MS/MA/MBA (or equivalent)

Experience Required

7-10 years
Including 3-5 years experience as a manager in Field Sales
CMA selling experience is required Preferred
Direct Store Delivery (DSD) and Beverage category experience preferred.
Experience in a collective bargaining environment
Multi-channel experience
