Director Technical John Deere Waterloo

Job Description:
As a Technical Director For John Deere Waterloo Foundry (JDWF) located In Waterloo, IA, You Will Deal With New Technologies Or Processes Within The Technology Delivery Process (TDP), Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP) Or Enterprise Order Fulfillment Process (EOFP). In Addition, You Will
Consult simultaneously on major projects and/or multiple projects.
Ensure that new and superior processes and technologies are utilized in projects, and that they meet their cost, quality and schedule requirements.
Provide technical direction and leadership to Enterprise Divisions and the Materials Engineering Council.
Perform supervisory duties within the technical disciplines under your oversight.

We Need An Excellent Communicator Who Thrives On Solving Problems And Working In a Team Environment. Ideally, You Will Have a Bachelor’s Degree In Metallurgical Engineering/Materials Engineering Technology, Or Equivalent Work Experience. In Addition, We Require
15+ years of experience working with foundry operations.
Background in materials engineering (metallurgical, process, iron and steel, light metals, data collection systems, etc.).
In-depth knowledge of materials engineering and material mechanics.
Experience with engineering systems, tools, reference material, external resources and databases.
Engineering experience with metal materials properties.
In-depth practical knowledge of foundry processes; melt system management, metallurgical control and analysis, green sand system control and management.

A Strong Candidate Will Also Have
10+ years of materials engineering experience.
8+ years of supervisory experience in a foundry setting.
8+ years of materials engineering management experience.
8+ years of technical experience relating to design/diagnostics of foundry metallurgical and sand process systems.
8+ years of experience with materials engineering tools, systems and databases.
Experience planning, organizing, and implementing materials engineering projects.
Experience working with the Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP) system.
Technical knowledge to conduct destructive and non-destructive testing and evaluation of materials and in implementation of DOEs.
Knowledge related to both ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
