Job Description:
Strategic Marketing will be responsible for working with the business units to develop routine market and competitive intelligence research assessments & economic indicators so as to influence real time business decisions combined with identifying the benefits and risks of longer term investment opportunities
This PMT corporate level role will develop best in class market analysis & strategy development practices, tools and methods to integrate within the business units in order to create competitive differentiation while further developing our Marketing talent.
This senior role will expose the successful candidate to working routinely with world class business leadership, diverse business models and significant opportunities to create incremental growth while enhancing their personal experiences and business acumen ahead of other future leadership roles within Honeywell.
Responsibilities
• Champion the development of the annual PMT 5 year Strategic Plan (STRAP) through interactions with all the business units, functions and regions. Responsible for the strategic content and driving execution against the STRAP actions and the strategies in each year’s Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
• Coordinate the combined PMT strategy for focused growth in our targeted high growth regions (HGR) and align with other Honeywell businesses so as to optimize the penetration of sales in new emerging markets.
• Responsible for leading and creating routine research & analytics with actionable assessments incorporating market, economic, competitor and technology sources so as to guide short term business decision making while developing advanced strategy roadmaps to assess for further growth by offering, region, technology etc.
• Lead the strategy development for unconstrained new growth opportunities in alignment with the overall business needs, identify significant new breakthrough areas & domains for active investment. Develop market size, segmentation and opportunity assessments combined with strategies to develop new offerings and go to market plans. Routinely support due diligence preparation and other strategy development projects across the business.
• Proactively lead the content development for key executive presentations to senior internal and external audiences so as to communicate the PMT strategies and value propositions
• Undertake business development activities to identify & generate new Licensing revenue streams and support the businesses with the maintenance of their current licensing portfolios
• Actively maintain Marketing’s alignment with all the Functions including Sales, MarCom, IT, Finance and Technology; drive proactive collaboration towards achieving the PMT growth goals
• Generate progress in the development & institutionalization of common tools, skills and reporting methods through hosting and leading a number of Marketing led Councils & projects as part of the Director's routine management operating system (MOS)
• Actively lead coaching and skills development initiatives across the business so as to inculcate advanced skills on strategy development and develop further strategic marketing talent pipelines
Basic Qualifications
• Undergraduate degree in engineering, life science, economics or other highly analytical/technical discipline required
• MBA
• 7+ years of marketing experience in business to business setting (including success leading marketing, strategic planning and growth initiatives and proven marketing strategic, analytical and implementation skills)
Additional Qualifications
• Demonstrated strong business acumen with the leadership and functional ability to define and implement growth strategies, assess business viability and develop actionable research product. Ideally a proven track record in strategic management consulting with significant experience in leading strategy development projects, executive level presentations
• Strong financial acumen with relevant experience interacting with and assessing complex business models, diverse data sources and P&L key metrics
Proven capacity to be rapidly effective in a complex global business environment and add value to high-level management interactions
• Proven ability to develop, communicate and influence buy-in around business strategies within complex and matrixed organizations
• Ability to forge solid relationships and manage across a broad and geographically dispersed business
• Strong team player and builder, receptive to ideas from others.
• Proven project management skills, effective self starter and meets deadlines routinely
• Excellent verbal, written & graphical communications skills; proficient in developing effective executive briefings & strategic presentations
• Excellent financial and analytical skills; data driven and focused on fact based assessments leading to economic outcomes and other quantifiable deliverables with plans for achievement
• Compelling executive presence with immediate leadership impact
• Organized and able to manage multiple priorities effectively
• Proven ability to take actions, manage risks intelligently, prioritize and implement effective solutions in a timely manner
• Ideally a strong background in management/strategic consulting with diverse experiences in multiple industries, business models, growth initiatives & geographies
• Seeking practical experiences with extrapolating strategies into practical business plans; new product development cycles and successful launch & commercialization activities
• Coach and trainer mentality, able to build, lead and motivate teams directly and indirectly
