Director Sales Development Thomson Reuters McLean

Job Description:
The role of the Sales Development Director is to increase TRSS sales, revenue, usage, and market share in predominantly government accounts within the TRSS territory. The role will focus on the sales/marketing of the Threat Intelligence Portfolio (TIP) product suite along with the other TRSS offerings. This role will utilize skills and knowledge related to working within a team environment, open source data/public records, sales, and relationship building.

Major Responsibilities
Attain assigned sales and revenue account goals
Provide high quality program/project management, account management, and customer support services to assigned accounts
Assist with the development, negotiation, proposal writing presentation and implementation of custom solutions and contracts


Establish solid, long-term customer relationships and cultivate new business opportunities by diagnosing needs, presenting solutions and addressing customer concerns
Partner with other Thomson Reuters business units to facilitate new sales
Keep up to date on competitive activities in accounts and communicate information to TRSS teamWe are the leading source of intelligent information for the world's businesses and professionals, providing customers with competitive advantage. Qualifications

Security clearance required
Bachelors degree required
Minimum of 5 years of government sales experience
Working knowledge of sales concepts, methods, and techniques
Ambitious self-starter with high energy and motivation; ability to work independently
Excellent communication, presentation and closing skills
Effective time management skills
Government account management and marketing experience required
Government program/project management strongly preferred
Public records/open source data experience strongly preferred
Ability to travel to sales training, meetings, and to customer locations
Customer service orientation and experience
Proficient in MS Office/internet Physical Requirements:
Must be able to travel to customer locations and company meetings (car and limited airplane travel)
Able to carry company materials (to include laptop, marketing material, etc.)
Able to sit for long periods of time in front of a computer
