Director Project Harvard University Cambridge

Job Description:
Serves as director of one or more research projects. Responsibilities include oversight of all aspects of the research such as: identify possible sources of funding; make initial contacts with funders; develop innovative research ideas that will advance the work of the unit, PZ, HGSE, and the field. Provide stewardship of the project throughout the funding cycles including building and maintaining a relationship with the funder(s). Conceptualize and write concept papers, grant proposals, and funder reports. Develop and oversee project budget in conjunction with Director of Administration and Senior Financial Officer and take the leadership in strategic planning and use of grant funds. Deliver plenary talks and facilitate small and large-group sessions. Plan and lead all research team, collaborator, PI, seminar, and group meetings. Identify and carry out any selection process for participating researcher and human subjects. Identify project outcomes and develop measures to assess those outcomes. Conceptualize products and analyze findings to be shared in various forms such as a Website, articles, books, monographs, seminars, and conference presentations. Work with high level organizational members to further human development, organizational intelligence in the specific thrusts outlined in the projects' mission.

This position requires regular international travel.

This position is temporary and grant-funded through June 30, 2016, with likelihood of continuation.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8-10 years of research experience required. Graduate study may count toward experience. Demonstrated record of managing research projects.


Additional Qualifications

Master’s or Doctorate preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a history of relevant publications strongly desirable. Experience designing and leading workshops and professional development for teachers and administrators.
