Job Description
This Senior Director will be responsible for the development and management of Visa’s branding and marketing technologies. This includes the support of applications, processes and platforms used by the function. In this dynamic and challenging position, the Senior Director will be managing teams of technologists responsible for defining the roadmap for each business area and the development, design, implementation and maintenance of business functionalities. Excellent organizational skills, including business relationship management are critical for this role. The selected candidate must be a hands-on leader, possess development/delivery expertise and strong partner relationship management, promote a collaborative team culture, and ignite passion within the team to build and deliver flawless BI solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Development and enhancements of Visa’s systems that support branding and marketing operations
Ensure that our systems / services are highly performant, scalable, available and loosely coupled.
Delivery of corporate systems through configuration of software packages, cloud solutions, SaaS, PaaS and custom development using internal staff, external vendors and system integrators.
Develop and maintain a strong relationship and partnership with Branding and Marketing leads providing proper technology services, and strategic advice.
Drive and support the technology portion of Branding and Marketing business roadmaps, goals and initiatives.
Continually raise the performance bar on any software and platform vendor that provide existing or new services. Negotiate agreements and services that ensure we do not compromise Visa performance, usability and architectural tenets
Management of development functions including business requirements elaboration, systems analysis, design, configuration, customization, integration, quality assurance and implementation.
Management of maintenance functions including incident management, problem management, application monitoring, tuning and minor enhancements.
Managing resources deployed globally
Working with limited direction, usually within a complex environment, to drive delivery of solutions and meet service levels.
Interacting regularly with senior and executive business and IT management.
Translate broad strategies into specific project objectives and action plans.
Provide recommendations to management based on best practices and experience working in a global and diverse environment.
Communicate effectively and proactively with all levels of management and articulate ideas and recommendations clearly.
Collaborating across global business and technology organization, providing sound business analysis, process and change leadership including Sr. Directors supporting Branding and Marketing organizations in AP and CEMEA.
Qualifications
More than 15 years of relevant experience (e.g., software development/engineering delivery, development and package implementation, delivery and design) managing cross-functional teams that may include responsibility for third-party offshore partners and software and professional staff.
Experience with Adobe CQ/AEM based Web Content Management and Digital Asset Management System Development and Deployment or equivalent technology.
Experience with Kofax Total Agility based Marketing Workflow Management System development and deployment or equivalent technology.
Experience managing and implementing SaaS, PaaS, and cloud solutions including Google Analytics for digital analytics and Adobe Marketing Cloud for inbound and campaign marketing.
Experience in supporting marketing operations in a large organization covering Marketing Resource management (MRM), Web Content Management, Campaign Management, Brand Management, demand management, etc.
Experience in managing and supporting licensed, hosted, and/or in-house/proprietary solutions (versus doing implementations in a consultant or professional services role), including ongoing roadmap development, and efficient release management of enhancements/ configurations.
Strong ability to manage application vendors and service providers and hold them accountable for deliverables.
Ability to assertively advocate for and get commitment from vendors for enhancements to licensed applications.
Ability to manage partner expectations by collaboratively developing and managing governance processes and communication plans, thus creating process transparency and a spirit of partnership and trust.
Domain expertise in managing and supporting enterprise class systems; overseeing software architecture, development and systems integration; and aligning complex business problems to appropriate technology solutions that deliver strong returns on investment
Domain expertise and understanding of marketing operation from business perspective in Brandings, Social Media, Sponsorship, Collaboration, .com, campaign management.
Recent experience in managing an organization with demonstrated ability to direct staff, consultants and/or offshore resources at any given time
Budgeting and forecasting experience managing a multi-million USD project portfolio
Ability to lead through organizational change and ambiguity, including experience in a global matrix management environment
Reputation for being a collaborative thought partner and business leader, skilled at leveraging formal and informal networks with the company
Strong people management skills with demonstrated ability to grow and mentor a high performing team
Bachelor's degree in a related discipline; advanced degree preferred
