Senior Director - US Army Programs - Honeywell - Huntsville


Job description
Reporting to the VP Defense Americas Aftermarket (DAA) within Honeywell Defense and Space, the candidate will lead all aspects of the US Army Aviation (AMCOM), Special Operations (SOCOM) and Communications & Electronics (CECOM) Command business and Tank & Automotive Command (TACOM) and National Guard business within DAA with overall responsibility for achieving key business success criteria including profitable growth, program execution, business financial performance and customer satisfaction ($420M in 2015).
This includes overall business strategy, revenue growth, gross margin, cash, AOP, MRR, STRAP, customer and employee satisfaction.

POSITION DESCRIPTION & KEY DELIVERABLES
Provides leadership and overall strategy for business segment, ensuring operational execution, meeting or exceeding annual and STRAP commitments
Develops and leads the execution of business strategies in alignment with the overall DAA and MPM strategic direction
Partners with other business leaders, MPM and Adv Tech for internal growth strategy, while developing long term external customer relationships (specific to the Army) and industry presence to achieve cumulative growth. Leads the team in the development and execution of negotiation strategies and leads major negotiations for all business aspects with the customer group.
Leads a wide range of development and production programs with extensive high level customer, engineering, and supply chain interface. Provides internal executive resolution in partnership with functional and customer business leaders.
Attainment of key financial metrics including revenue, AR, operating income, controllable expenses, and business renewal and growth.
Identifies opportunities and executes specific plans to improve the overall performance and profitability of the AMCOM/SOCOM/CECOM , TACOM/National Guard business
Acts as the lead business negotiator in closing multi-year life cycle support contracts, whose value can exceed $200M
Responsible for talent management including manpower planning/organizational alignment, talent selection and development, MRR, GCP and HPD adherence and direction.
Leads the AMCOM/SOCOM/CECOM, TACOM/National Guard business (Customer Business Managers, Program Managers, functional resources) to deliver on business objectives and customer commitments and meet the organization's mission
Leads the execution of all AMCOM/SOCOM/CECOM, TACOM/National Guard programs and is responsible for maintaining good and consistent program performance within budgets and requirements
Acts as an enabler, drives the operating system in promoting and implementing growth acceleration initiatives through Honeywell Aerospace Trading - HAT, Business Policy Transformation - BPT, Retrofits, Modifications and Upgrades - RMUs and HTSI
Understands the competitive environment, develops and implements mitigation plans and leads their execution
The position requires strong influence skills to effectively drive performance in a matrixed, cross-functional environment, a proven track record of effective customer management and interface, a strong program management discipline. Demonstrated success in working across diverse, multi-cultural environments is critical for success. Must be able to mentor and develop program management talent.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in technical or business area
10 years progressive experience in program management, Supply Chain, engineering or other related area. Must have significant large scale, complex business leadership experience.
8 years of experience and knowledge of fundamental program management principles, ability to work effectively with Supply Chain, Engineering, Sales, Finance, Pricing, Contract, and Customer & Product Support to achieve successful outcomes.
US Citizen due to contract restrictions.
Preferred Qualifications:

Masters Degree in Business Administration or Engineering
Working knowledge of business and financial fundamentals (Profit & Loss, Investment Analysis, Balance Sheet, Green Sheets).
Strong presentation and communication skills.
Ability to make sound decisions and take quick actions to execute
