Job Description
Core Focus
Directs, monitors, and controls the dissemination and exchange of current and future fashion trends among the kids product development, design, merchandising and marketing teams

Primary Responsibilities
Identify Trends/Create Brand Concept
Provide corporate Trend/Concept Download Presentation by Brand
Identify and execute volume trends and key items

Create Quick Hits/Trend Flash reports for design team as applicable
Work with suppliers, color and trend services, and print houses to identify fashion, trend, and color direction and to ensure a cohesive mix of quality and trend right/lifestyle
Travel as needed, shop appropriate markets and work with the design team to conceptualize the product design for the season
Attend external trend presentations

Brand Development
Analyze merchandise mix and works with selected suppliers and Divisional Merchandising Managers to develop new business opportunities and capitalize on existing business regarding enhancements to categories of merchandise
Participate in review of sales and profit results and recommends programs or improvements to programs that support merchandise strategies
Execute appropriate interpretation and consistency within the assigned division of merchandise plans and programs
Ensure that the collection meets the fashion and quality requirements consistent with the brand profile

Styling
Identify and communicates trends for in store trend zones to visual team
Work with PR to ensure trends are represented in photo shoots and relevant press

Textile and Graphics Support
Meet regularly with NY/UK Print/Graphic studios, share selects with team
Enhance and maintains the seasonal Image Library


Prior Experience
10 – 15 years' experience in kids design and/or merchandising and concept/trend
Sense of fashion, and knowledge of fabrics and manufacturing processes
Proven ability to partner with design, merchandising and trend teams of scale
College degree in fine arts or design, or equivalent work experience in a design related field preferred
