Director - Sourcing Global Category - McDonald's Corporation - Oak Brook
Job description
This position will report to the Global Chief Procurement Officer, and will work closely with the global CMO, and other senior leaders across the organization. This position will have direct reports that include marketing procurement teams in markets throughout the world. Responsibilities
Responsibilities
As a global category lead, this position is responsible for all sourcing and procurement activities for all marketing spend areas. To be successful in this role, candidates will work with key executive stakeholders throughout the world to:
· Analyze & evaluate the global marketing spend
· Lead the annual spend analysis and feasibility assessment process with stakeholders and Category Managers and develop recommendations for value opportunities
· Develop multi-year category strategies for key marketing spend categories
· Develop/manage the annual sourcing project pipeline
· Coordinate and manage resources for the execution of global, regional, and market-level initiatives
· Develop and implement key performance metrics for the category and key suppliers
· Assemble, develop and manage high performing marketing procurement teams throughout the world
· Deliver significant value (e.g. creative excellence, cost savings, risk reduction, innovation) in support of the marketing function and capability
Outside Of The Strategic Sourcing Process, Successful Candidates Will Also
· Engage stakeholders at all levels to inform, educate, and influence thinking on effective strategies for marketing procurement
· Provide direction, manage performance, and ensure staff development for both direct reports and dotted-line reports during sourcing projects
· Keep abreast of the latest trends in indirect procurement, and bring advanced processes and practices to our organization when appropriate
· Continue to the ongoing strategic development of the indirect procurement organization
· Own and manage key organizational development initiatives as appropriate
Minimum Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related field required
· Significant experience in strategic sourcing or commensurate experience in category management for global marketing procurement functions
· Demonstrated success at negotiating large agency contracts
· Compelling executive presence. Extensive experience developing executive-level materials with compelling messaging.
· Strong project management skills. Can lead procurement resources in the creation of successful project plans and in engaging stakeholder teams to execute these plans and achieve desired results.
· Ability to build and work collaboratively on cross-functional teams. Able to build team consensus and drive/motivate teams to achieve exceptional results. Able to overcome resistance and build effective stakeholder relationships
· Effective listening, verbal & presentation skills – clear, articulate, and persuasive
· Strong financial, organizational, and operational analysis capabilities
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications (e.g. PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Word)
