Director - Government Risk and Compliance - Cognizant - Washington
Job description
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a public sector subject matter expert focused on project Governance, Risk Management Compliance (GRC) for US Federal State projects. Local government on an as needed basis.
Advise on all aspects of GRC for public sector as required including opportunity identification, deal pursuit, proposal development, contract negotiations, risk management, project execution and project closeout.
Create, maintain, revise and deliver a 'Public Sector Delivery Playbook' focused on unique performance, reporting and compliance aspects of Federal State government contracts.
Create, maintain, revise and deliver a 'Public Sector Sales Playbook' focused on unique aspects of public sector deals including RFP identification, pursuit and proposal development activities.
Create, maintain, revise and deliver a 'Public Sector Code of Conduct Playbook' focused on compliance, performance and do's/don'ts of public sector projects.
Establish and maintain peer relationships with CPs and AMs on public sector projects and serve as a SME to these client service leads regarding unique delivery and compliance matters on public sector client engagements.
Conduct periodic reviews and assessments of ongoing projects to ensure unique public sector aspects of governance, risk and compliance are addressed.
Monitor market, contract and compliance changes for both Federal State.
Work regularly with legal and project teams on creation of MSAs, SOWs, reporting and compliance requirements.
Prepare written reports and conduct oral reviews of project matters regularly.
Qualifications
Experience:
At least 7+ years of experience in business development and/or client service delivery to large Federal State agencies in a lead role.
At least 5+ years of direct experience in a governance, risk management and compliance role overseeing Federal State projects and services.
Some legal training and/or federal acquisition regulations experience is a plus.
Deep knowledge and proven experience as a GRC subject matter expert on $10M-$25M+ projects for Federal State agencies.
Hands-on experience in developing and maintaining various playbooks.
Demonstrated experience interacting with client and delivery leadership in assessing, planning and resolving project escalations to a satisfactory conclusion.
Direct experience with a global service delivery model.
Strong written and verbal skills.
Self-confident and able to interact with senior management as required.
Self-starter who can work independently and with limited direction.
