Director - Product - NASDAQ - Los Angeles


Job Summary

As a member of GlobeNewswire Product Management team within NASDAQ’s Corporate Solutions group, you will be responsible for the product development lifecycle of critical GlobeNewswire features and functions, including setting the feature’s vision, gathering requirements from stakeholders, prioritizing those requirements, and working closely with our software development and quality assurance (QA) teams to deliver the feature. In addition to technology teams, the primary stakeholders are customers and internal employee users; plus the sales, marketing and legal teams.the Corporate Solutions division, serving as primary liaison between the customer and internal resources.


WHAT ARE YOUR DAILY ACTIVITIES?
Uncover business, functional and performance requirements by conducting interviews with various users, customers and stakeholders.
Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, and distinguish specific user requests from essential, common functional needs.
Document product requirements through the development of business process descriptions, user scenarios, workflow analysis, data flow diagrams, user interface wireframes and other methods as appropriate.
Work independently with users to define concepts and under direction of product managers.
Develop requirements specifications according to standard templates, using a combination of natural language information technology modeling tools (flow charts, diagrams, etc.).
Serve as the critical liaison between the business units, technology teams, sales and operations teams.

YOUR SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
B.A. or B.S. Degree in a Business, Information Management, Information Technology or a similar discipline.
Five or more years professional experience as a Product Manager or in a similar position.
Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies and processes.
Serves as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow.
Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
General understanding of the development and deployment of enterprise business software.
