Director - Strategy - Global Snacks - PepsiCo - Purchase


Job description

The Strategy group within the Global Snacks Group (GSG) is focused on leading the development of strategic agenda for Global Snacks, working closely with the President of Global Snacks Group, Regional Category Leaders, VP of Strategy, and functional leadership. The Director will be intimately involved in the development of global snacks strategic vision, helping lead the strategic planning process, ensuring close alignment with the regional plans, and working on developing the business case for specific, high potential global growth opportunities.


The Director will take a leadership role, with others in the department, in the annual Strategic Plan development effort and promote strategic development through extensive competitive analysis and by advancing the interests of the company at conferences, trade shows, and meetings with companies. This person will provide broad, strategic input into potential mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures to ensure maximum returns on invested capital and consistency with the overall business.

The role will require close working with the regional snacks teams and the Director will form close working relationships to understand, incorporate, align and drive regional perspectives to the global agenda.

Blending strong internal capabilities with creative, external perspectives, the successful candidate will champion new initiatives that demonstrate breakthrough thinking. With direct access to senior executives, this individual will lead highly visible projects that will have a significant impact on the direction and performance of the company.

Accountabilities:



Identify and define business questions and issues and develop strategic, analytical and financial frameworks to conduct analyses
Assist in the planning and execution of the Global Strategic Planning Processes and global review
Strong capability in developing and designing implementation plans to drive execution
Demonstrate strong leadership and significant influence management skills with the ability to gain credibility with a broad group of people - team members, regional and functional peers, regional and global leadership
Define creative, out-of-the-box thinking to identify white space opportunities and formulate an approach to address the identified opportunity

Qualifications:

8-10 years of strategy experience in a variety of positions both internally and externally.
BA required (MBA strongly preferred)
Highly analytical, motivated, decisive through leader with excellent managerial skills.
Strategic mind with an ability to think broadly, refine questions, and influence multiple decision makers
Experience in the broader Consumer Goods space
Thought leadership and commercial implementation with a track record of developing and delivering high impact and successful consumer products strategies with the context of a top tier strategic consulting firm or significant strategic planning experience in a corporate environment
Track record of taking calculated risks for the long-term benefit of the organization and is thereby considered an extremely progressive thought-leader
Communication skills that is able to educate and influence management and senior leaders to act in a desired manner through written and verbal communication
Analytical and negotiating skills as evidence by high intelligence, strong financial and analytical capabilities and the proven ability to develop, sell and drive suitable partnerships, alliances, or other transactions to closure
Global outlook with sensitivity and awareness of social and cultural differences
