Coca-Cola North America seeks a Labor Relations Director, Operations Support in the field at the direction of the Group Director, Labor Relations Operations Support. The Labor Relations Director provides support to the Region Labor Directors and the labor function generally in the areas of contract negotiation, contract administration and positive employee relations. The position is the largest "utility player" role in the labor relations function and will negotiate contracts, support the company's positive employee relations efforts and perform other duties as assigned. The Labor Relations Director, Operations Support provides essential bench strength for the labor function and serves as a training role for future Region Labor Relations Directors.
Additionally, this role works closely with Region Labor Relations Directors to support them in advising, consulting and educating Human Resource Business Partner's (HRBPs) and Region Leadership on labor matters to ensure the successful, efficient, effective, legal implementation of labor relations activity at the Region level.

The Labor Relations Director, Operations Support is responsible for, but not limited to the following responsibilities:

• Assist Region Labor Relations Directors in executing labor strategy and all field activities within the Business Units.
• Work with and at the direction of the Labor Relations, Group Directors on projects that align business and labor strategies to ensure timely execution of business priorities.
• At the direction of the Region Labor Relations Director execute contract preparation and act in the capacity of lead negotiator or second chair in negotiation of select labor contracts as assigned.
• Lead or partner with company lead on all union campaigns – build credibility with employees, maintain good morale amongst employees, gain trust of management, etc.
• Partners in Region level efforts to determine/develop needed operating flexibilities to promote maximum workforce productivity, efficiency and effectiveness.
• Partners in Region level efforts on union campaigns – build credibility with employees, maintain good morale amongst employees, gain trust of management, etc. Assist in positive employee relations initiatives throughout North America to include supervisor and manager training and employee awareness sessions.
• Provide coaching, counseling and education to Region leadership, management and HRBPs in the labor relations area. Execute effective training tools and conduct training for employees and managers in labor relations area.
• Work closely with Director, Labor Relations Strategy and Planning and Region Labor Relations Directors to proactively respond to labor issues, management/labor councils, mediations and arbitrations, etc..
• Accountable for the tracking of Labor and Employee related expenses for a Business Unit, where assigned to assist with a specific negotiation.
• Assist in execution of strike contingency plans – pre-planning, logistics, personnel pool, accounting and payroll, overall communication during work stoppage, etc.
• Responsible for assisting Region Labor Relations Directors in managing grievances utilizing established grievance processes.
• Assist in preparing for arbitration proceedings in the Region as needed.
• Develop strong working knowledge of labor law practices and current events in the field.
• Assist in major investigations and fact finding on employee and labor relations issues within the Business Unit.

Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Labor Industrial Relations, Human Resources, Business, Political Science or Economics fields
5 years or more of relevant labor relations or human resources experience; or relevant course study at accredited and recognized academic institution.
Experience in labor negotiations, contract administration and/or positive employee relations strategy
