Director - Digital Enterprise Solutions Architect - Avanade - Washington


Job Description
The Digital Application Development Director will play a key role in the growth of our Digital Applications offerings in the Mid-Atlantic Region. This person will understand how to identify, architect and propose services engagements in the digital space and will be able to work closely with sales and delivery teams to sell and deliver services projects. This role requires Architect level understanding of a variety of Microsoft application platforms that make up the digital space around social, mobile, analytics and cloud. The person in this role should be able to evangelize Microsoft-based solutions that include: Azure PaaS capabilities; Content Management and Digital Marketing Solutions (Sitecore); Cross Platform Mobility Development using Xamarin and .NET Responsible for defining and developing the strategy and roadmap for the Digital Application Architecture domain.

You must be able to:

Architect and shape application development projects and provide estimates for effort and timeline

Translate technical knowledge and skills into real business conversations, team with business development executives to create proposals and sell new projects.

Technical skills expertise:

Deep understanding on the following: Azure PaaS, Cross Platform Mobile Application Development using Xamarin and .NET, .NET architectures, cloud architectures (public vs. private vs. hybrid).
Working knowledge and value proposition of Microsoft data and analytics products.
Working knowledge and value proposition of other Microsoft Business Solutions like Dynamics CRM and AX.
High level understanding of competing technologies.
Extensive end to end experience in architecting and designing highly scalable, high performing and highly available Microsoft based complex web applications following advanced Architecture Practices and Patterns
Experience architecting and designing complex Microsoft based web applications hosted in the Cloud (e.g., Azure, etc.)

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

Business & Commercial:

Strategy – to achieve growth targets and organizational goals as determined by the Regional Lead.

Financial – help manage regional practice to meet and exceed financial targets. Provide forecasting and sales pipeline analysis to support processes.

Operations – Establish operating approaches and procedures consistent with Avanade's business strategies, policies, and objectives and ensure their execution, in compliance with the laws governing business operations.

Delivery – Manage effective delivery of work to customers and ensure adherence to Avanade methodology leveraging the skills, capabilities and assets in the region (or other regions/SLs/Area) to meet commitments made to customers, while delivering the contracted solution at the agreed terms, cost, schedule and quality level.

People & Organization:

Help drive hiring, staffing, and career development.

Support practices and discipline to manage employee utilization.

Accountable for group's competency plan based on current technical and solution readiness vs. Regional sales and delivery demands.

Work with Primary Service Line Lead to determine priorities for staff positioning on customer projects, business development activities and internal investments initiatives.

Implement performance management processes to develop, reward, and retain high performers, and coach or manage poor performers.

Ensure workforce meets training and certification targets.

Support the career and performance management program and processes for the consultant workforce aligned to designated Region. Provide guidance and supervision of Service Line Career Managers aligned within their Region.

Maintain and strengthen the Avanade and Region culture and identity to foster a strong sense of connection and belonging. Ensure the demands of the business are balanced with a positive and constructive employee environment.

Promote continuous knowledge sharing and re-use of best practices across the Region and Global Service Lines.

10+years

Management Experience:

7+ years of demonstrated managerial and leadership expertise; experience leading projects for customers

Education:

Postgraduate degree; technical degree, IT, engineering or related preferred
