Job description
The Director of Transportation for eBay Enterprise will encompasses an individual with a strong level of experience in domestic and global freight. Brings a skillset in logistic strategy, network design, implementation and ongoing performance. Drives the transportation distribution excellence activities for the fulfillment operations business. Responsible for the creation and execution of strategies to improve business process productivity, reduce freight costs while improving business profitability. Specifically responsible for creation and execution that drives change in organizational structures, and technical procurement infrastructure within our distribution operations.
Plan and implement global synergy opportunities related to the potential acquisitions.
Leverage other eBay divisions to procure most competitive and flexible global freight contracts
Proactively manage all compliance requirements and ensure global compliance
Benchmark and utilize 3rd party tools and systems to drive world-class logistics management processes.

Utilize robust Global KPI's
Work closely with business development and implement optimized logistics and warehousing locations to align with distribution footprint changes.
Manages domestic and global inventory and associated target levels and reduction goals.
Directs the development and implementation of global material management processes - procedures, certification program, and assessments.
Drives supplier development related to supplier delivery performance within 6- 12 distribution facilities
Drives improvements in vendor/supplier delivery performance
Drives implementation of IT tools (Demand Planning) to support the new S&OP process; piloting and designing supply side S&OP. Drives the implementation globally.
Identifies and implements IT tools to support best practice material processes
Serves as relationship manager with Retailers for optimizing processes being implemented in distribution.
Owns the business process for SAP materials management and planning; supports SAP deployments and improves global, best practice processes.
Supports the logistics/transportation process changes initiated by Logistics procurement in facilities such as routing compliance, distribution optimization etc...
Identifies and implements logistics process/network changes impacting overall order fulfillment process; such as Systems branch shipment consolidation project, European inbound warehousing and transportation network, etc.
Develops side processes of new S&OP process; provides plants mix specific forecasts and master production scheduling.

8 years of experience with multisite transportation, materials/logistics activities.
10 years minimum experience in a management role.
Background with corporate structure within a third party transportation environment.
Ability to influence in a collaborative manner while ensuring implementation of world-class processes.
Requires experience and vision of tools and techniques to optimize a complex logistics network for domestic and global freight.
Ability to communicate and plan effectively with commercial channel leaders and customers.
Strong strategic business skills working with sales, customers
Excellent people management and interpersonal relationship skills.
Thorough knowledge of systems and computer operations. Warehouse management systems helpful
Able to travel up to 10%-50% most of the time (as high as 50% at times).
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)
Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering, Master's Degree Preferred
