Director - Revenue and Analytics - Ask - Oakland


Job description
The Role
The Director, Revenue & Analytics will be an expert in Ask.com user and traffic performance metrics. They will lead a team of analysts to research, segment, analyze, and aggressively optimize to improve user experience and grow revenue. They will collaborate with Product Development and Traffic Acquisition teams to implement A/B tests of product and monetization enhancements to analyze performance. Additionally they will leverage their deep understanding of the profitability framework to determine performance driving strategies.

You should be able to multi-task and prioritize projects, be comfortable presenting to and interacting with executive management team, and have excellent attention to detail.


Your Task
Lead a team of analysts who are responsible for monitoring Ask.com's KPIs, forecasting traffic and revenue trends, and informing business decisions with thoughtful analysis.
Develop analytical frameworks, approaches, and processes. Collaborate with technical teams to operationalize metrics and reports that advance the Ask.com analytical toolkit
Establish methodologies for analyzing frequency, retention, lifetime value, and other key business metrics
Evaluate large and complex data sets with sophisticated quantitative analyses and develop advanced models that translate data into actionable insights to support decision making on a variety of business issues
Become an expert in leveraging Ask.com data sources and analytics resources in order to solve difficult, non-routine problems
Deliver clear verbal and written explanations of analyses to senior management that translate findings into strategic recommendations
Collaborate with Product Development and Traffic Acquisition teams to identify appropriate methodology for deploying and measuring tactical initiatives
Build operational dashboards to monitor product performance by traffic acquisition source (organic, SEM, etc.)
Conduct in-depth analyses on site behaviors, click patterns, user satisfaction, and monetization
Drive a schedule/roadmap of A/B tests that is aligned with Ask.com's strategic and product development initiatives

Your Skills
8+ years experience in an analytical role
Experience in internet advertising, internet search, e-commerce or related field
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, with statistics course work (e.g. economics, statistics)
Expert in Excel, proficient in Word and PowerPoint
Demonstrated experience collaborating with technical teams
Past experience with web reporting technologies & site reporting tools
Understanding of internet and search and search engine marketing business models
Advanced SQL a plus
Tableau Certified a plus
