Director - Business Strategy & Operations - Pandora - San Francisco
Job description
Pandora is looking for a Director, Business Strategy & Operations to support the Revenue Operations Business! This role reports to the EVP, Revenue Operations, and will help guide the strategic direction and operational effectiveness of this critical business function.
Responsibilities:
Industry Analysis & Recommendations: Understand industry trends in core revenue operations; examples include: service excellence, programmatic, mobile advertising, ad tech, native advertising, and sales excellence. Develop a quarterly competitive assessment to inform strategy, from external and internal sources. Monitor and analyze industry statistics and trends, understand corporate and business unit objectives, and identify opportunities for increased growth. Form and evaluate recommendations for strategic growth and monetization.
Strategic Insight: Monitor, analyze and report operational and performance drivers across our service, yield and operational initiatives. Develop significant insights to help deliver efficiency, advertiser value and revenue.
Operational Reporting: Author all performance related scorecards and our operating model. Drive the data gathering, analysis, data presentation, and distribution of reporting to assist and enable operational scalability, service excellence, ad tech and yield. Understand the data drivers behind the business and continuously improve on the reporting of those factors. This includes delivering executive level monthly insights on our strategic direction and execution initiatives.
Planning and Business Rhythms: Run our organizational planning and business rhythm processes in alignment with Sales, Finance and corporate initiatives. This includes resource planning, operational goal setting and monthly business reviews.
Business Process Improvement: Drive teams in accordance to plan on business process improvements in internal and customer-facing processes, systems, data reporting, and analysis to help scale Pandora for significant growth.
Partner: Requires cross departmental collaboration with other teams (such as Business Operations and Finance as well as stakeholders in the direct sales organization) to build and improve reporting suite. Also may require fostering external relationships.
General Business Management: Provide executive management team timely ad hoc reporting as requested or as needed. This can also include focus on strategic initiatives: M&A, International, exploring new lines of business.
Desired Skills and Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
You must enjoy solving challenging operational and revenue related problems, and have significant experience working with data to inform strategic KPIS, scorecard and operational insights.
You should also have passion around driving significant operational excellence and building service excellence at scale.
You are someone that others can count on, and someone they enjoy working with.
You can develop strategic insight, but also have strong data and analytical capability.
Great interpersonal, organizational and communication skills (verbal, written, and design); and strong attention to detail.
Strong EQ and partnering skills.
A minimum of 7 years experience working within a Consulting firm, Sales or Operations environment, preferably with experience in advertising agency, media company, or technology organization.
Excellent quantification skill-set and very reliable for quality deliverables.
Must move quickly and deliver the right results in hyper-growth environments.
Computer proficiency (Internet, Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google docs, etc.). Experience with Salesforce is a must.
Willingness to travel when needed.
