Director - Product Marketing - Cvent - McLean


Job description
For 14 years, Cvent has been a part of the digital revolution driving meeting professionals and suppliers to adapt to more efficient ways of doing business. We are seeking a Director/Senior Manager of Product Marketing for the Cvent Supplier Network (CSN) to help us develop and execute powerful go-to-market strategies that will enable Cvent to continue to change the game.

Our ideal hire will have a passion for mentoring, developing and coaching, but will also have the same enthusiasm for getting into the game to make sure Cvent wins. Top candidates will be exceptionally organized with the ability to define, prioritize and execute marketing objectives to increase adoption of Cvent’s product offerings. He or she should have a strong track record of launching software or technology while working in tandem with sales and marketing leadership, as well as product development teams. The Director/Senior Manager of Product Marketing will focus the majority of his/her time on product positioning/messaging, customer experience, sales enablement, and overall market strategy for CSN.


CSN is a marketplace which connects meeting planners with venues (hotels, museums & galleries, restaurants) worldwide. Planners are able to search for meeting venues, easily submit requests for proposals, and compare suppliers’ responses side by side. Much like on Google, suppliers may elect to purchase advertising placements within the Supplier Network to increase their exposure to meeting planners. The tool is free for planners to use.

Position Duties:
Define product marketing roadmap and drive all ongoing marketing activities
Own, develop and refine product messaging and story
Lead all activities around new product offering launches, sales enablement and thought leadership initiatives
Work with design and copywriting teams to develop landing pages, emails, collateral and content/promotional pieces that convert recipients and visitors into leads
Perform competitive analysis and become an expert on the industry landscape to ensure Cvent remains the market leader
Develop an understanding of the buyer and user personas for our products and establish solution-based value propositions accordingly
Collaborate with Technology, Client Services and Sales to enhance existing product functionality and usability based on market feedback

Desired Skills and Experience
7 years experience in a product marketing role from a B2B internet technology company -- ideally SaaS software
Deep understanding of B2B marketing strategies and techniques with a passion for technology
Solid understanding of digital marketing concepts such as funnel dynamics, monetization, and conversion
Ability to effectively manage and inspire direct and indirect reports to accomplish long and short-term goals
Strength in working with cross-functional teams including executive management, product management, operations, sales and marketing
Fast learner with the ability to execute in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment
Self-directed, organized and disciplined team player who is capable of hands-on-execution and long term business planning
Superior presentation, written and verbal communication skills with an eye for quality and attention to detail
Ability to work with a geographically dispersed team to achieve objectives
Previous experience in hospitality technology a plus
Education: BA/BS required
