WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are currently searching for a highly-qualified Senior Director of Marketing. The Sr. Director of Marketing will oversee and manage the teams and efforts responsible for planning, implementation and execution of online customer acquisition and retention campaigns, with the focus on directly generating and positively impacting business growth. Focuses will include paid and organic search, affiliate programs, comparison shopping and email programs. The Senior Director of Marketing reports the President of Rakuten.com and will work closely with various departments throughout the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive overall marketing strategy and customer lifecycle touch points across new user acquisition, engagement and retention.
Provide leadership and direction to marketing team members
Develop marketing strategies that ensure customer base growth, with tangible profitable returns
Track and increase the ROI of multi-channel marketing campaigns
P&L responsibility for budgeting, GMV and profitability targets.
Identify target customer segments in the formulation of customer acquisition and retention strategies
Define, implement and optimize customer acquisition and retention strategies for all online marketing channels – affiliate, email, search, display and social media.
Provides leadership, direction and management of the channel marketing considering customer strategy
Develop and facilitate business relationships with key business partners, such as Linkshare, Google and Exact Target.
Test new venues for customer and lead generation
Seek out new partnerships for Co-Marketing opportunities
Evaluate market share and monitor competition
Provide marketing expertise to the Company by building, developing and managing a marketing team capable of carrying out the necessary marketing strategies and tactics
Stay on top of latest ecommerce and marketing trending and provide thought leadership within the organization for the application of new technology and techniques.

Four year degree from an accredited university, or commensurate work experience. Masters-level degree is highly preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience managing online customer acquisition campaigns for a fast growing or entrepreneurial company that relies heavily upon E-Commerce for its Direct Response Marketing activity. Retail experience is a plus.
Measurable experience in paid and organic search, affiliate programs, comparison shopping engines, email and other online programs
Demonstrated ability to deliver a quantity of valuable new customers within the framework of ROI goals, as a key part of a successful business enterprise
Ability to create the strategic direction of increasing E-Commerce activity from a variety of online media channels to expand market share
May require some travel.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Four year degree from an accredited university, or commensurate work experience. Masters-level degree is highly preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience managing online customer acquisition campaigns for a fast growing or entrepreneurial company that relies heavily upon E-Commerce for its Direct Response Marketing activity. Retail experience is a plus.

Must be highly-skilled in communicating with a diverse range of individuals
Skills in Search Engine Optimization (SEO) along with strong PC skills that include Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint
Ability to self-motivate and work independently
Ability to exercise considerable sound judgment in setting priorities
