Senior Director, Insight and Customer Strategy – Data Center
Insight and Customer Strategy
Location: Any US location
Oracle is hiring a Senior Director for our Insight and Customer Strategy team to be aligned with Data Centers. As part of a team with US focus, this person will help provide industry /vertical specific thought leadership and identify industry specific value propositions for our customers. Responsibilities include managing the North America Data Center Insight team.
The position will require the person to lead the development of industry specific tools and processes to be leveraged by the sales, marketing and consulting organizations in their respective roles.
In addition, their responsibilities will include direct deal support with the following responsibilities:
1. Identifying key industry/company specific strategies and opportunities
2. Assessing customer's current and target capabilities
3. Developing business cases for customers achieving target capabilities
4. Building the various sales teams’ skills in strategic assessments and value proposition development
5. Assisting the sales teams in account planning.
Desired Skills and Experience
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Consulting Experience: The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of experience with a premier IT & management consulting firm.
4-6 years experience with industry leading companies in a functional or IT management role will be a strong advantage.
Software Sales Experience: Proven ability to manage complex sales cycles and/or to sell concepts/ideas to C-level executives is a strong plus
Industry Experience: 8 – 10 years of experience in operations and strategy development.
Proven track record of impact and ability to lead improvement initiatives
PREFERRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of business related IT issues and solutions including applications, analytics, governance and systems and business process integration
Industry Specific Knowledge
Communication/ Problem Solving Skills: Exceptional business problem solving combined with strong interpersonal skills.
Outstanding oral and presentation communication skills.
Detailed knowledge of data center operational technology process standards, ITIL, TOGAF, ISO 20000 as well as working knowledge of Data Center architecture choices (e.g. virtualization, compression, SOA)
Experience of Data Center architecture and /or IT Infrastructure Strategy including Hardware.
Proven and documented IT knowledge and a master degree in IT or business IT from a top-rated university.
Ability to travel 50%+ (primarily US domestic)
