The Role:
This newly created career opportunity will be based out of our Grand Forks, ND office. Reporting to the President, the Director of Operations will work with a combination of support and autonomy that allows you to make your impact in an exciting business environment. The primary objective of the Director of Operations is to ensure the Asset and Logistics Operations department meets company goals in utilization, revenue, and employee satisfaction. The Director will proactively enhance the communication flow of information throughout the company, and oversee the development of existing and potential accounts.
The incumbent is responsible for attracting and developing a high performance team, operations performance and continually evaluating, building and achieving program objectives and goals. This must be accomplished by effective written and oral communication, cultivation of relationships both internally and externally and providing strategic leadership, supervision and support.

The Candidate:
We seek a highly strategic thinker with strong business acumen who is passionate about leading progressively and who has the drive and initiative to grow our business. The ideal candidate is an experienced manager who possesses excellent interpersonal skills and has the desire to mentor and lead with vision and care. Further qualifications include, but are not limited to:

5-8+ years of experience leading people in a managerial role in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment. Experience managing in the Supply Chain Management field is considered an asset,
Excellent human resource skills: coaching, mentoring, performance management,
Strong communication skills: excellent oral, written and presentation skills, as well as adult learning techniques,
Strong leadership skills: team-work, delegation,
Strong organizational skills: time management, project planning, multi-tasking,
Excellent problem solving ability,
Efficient record keeping ability;
Progressive knowledge of the transportation industry including competition and trends is considered an asset.
