Job Description:
The Director Critical Infrastructure is accountable for the day-to-day operations and long term planning of TWC critical facilities within the market. TWC operates numerous critical facilities essential to the success of the products and services delivered to commercial and residential customers. The successful candidate will lead a team of managers, engineers and technicians responsible for all aspects of the electrical power distribution, cooling, fire suppression, rack space, monitoring, and preventive, corrective and emergency maintenance.
As the leader for critical infrastructure within the market, developing partnerships with internal and external vendors/partners is a key element to this role. The successful candidate will assist with the development of critical infrastructure strategy nationwide working with peers and senior management. Executing and implementing those strategies within the team is critical to the success of this role.
The position will develop and implement policies, procedures metrics, inspection programs, security programs, training and service level agreements. Prepare, present and execute against annual departmental budgets including monthly financial review and forecasting. Research and development of sustainability-related enhancements and promote sustainability initiatives with a focus on energy efficiencies. Conducts interim facility reviews to document data center environmentals, contaminants and efficiencies. Perform other duties or responsibilities as required or assigned.
The position plans and budgets for facility expansions of various systems to handle service capacity growth. The position provides and ensures execution of comprehensive preventative and emergency maintenance programs for all market facilities and their systems to maintain optimum reliability and availability.
Lead a team of professional engineers responsible for establishing company-wide Critical Infrastructure standards in areas such as spec design, monitoring, emergency response procedures, risk mitigation strategies, policy development, process documentation and overall critical infrastructure standardization.
Essential Job Functions
· Coordinate the development and implementation of policies, procedures, practices and performance measurements that promote sustainability goals and measures effectiveness.
· Develop, manage, and execute against capital and operational budgets.
· Ensure availability of sites across a large geographic area by enforcing policies and procedures to ensure customer services are ALWAYS ON.
· Coordinate real estate site evaluation and acquisition and data center construction.
· Identify, design, and/or research new technologies to create system efficiencies, process improvements, preventative maintenance, and/or cost-saving measures.
· Serve as the liaison to various internal and external organizations regarding sustainability.
· Provide oversight and direction for regional improvements required to maximize availability of TWC’s products and services as it relates to Critical Infrastructure.
· Conduct assessments of TWC facilities against design criteria. Assist the regions with determining the appropriate corrective actions to mitigate risks identified during the assessment process.
· Provide leadership of diverse team of CI personnel across a large geographic area.
· Perform other duties or responsibilities as required or assigned.
Job Requirements:
Extensive knowledge of critical facilities construction and management disciplines related to data center or central office facilities.Solid understanding of industry best practices for a variety of data center design elements (site selection, facility design, room ready requirements, pre-occupancy requirements) and environmental support infrastructure requirements (architectural, electrical, mechanical, fire detection and suppression, building automation & monitoring, low-voltage voice and data cabling and security).Proven leader overseeing geographic diverse workforce across hundreds of facilities.Must have the ability to facilitate and lead teams/groups in adaptation of new and improved engineering and energy practices.Must have excellent relationship building skills.Proven development of practices, procedures and/or curriculum and training of groups for Data Center Operations.Project management experience with strong analytical and written/oral reporting skills.Minimum 10 years engineering experience, with 5 years in a leadership role.Energy Efficiency experience including Energy Audits, Energy Modeling, Sustainable Design, Lifecycle Cost Analysis, Building Commissioning Process and LEED projects.Energy industry software such as:
Foreseer, ALC, JACE, E-Quest, Trane Trace, Carrier HAP, and Building Information Modeling software (BIM).Highly versed in a variety of applicable Engineering Codes and Standards, including IEEE, ANSI, EIA/TIA NEC, NFPA, BOCA and IBC.Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.Preferred Qualifications:

· Minimum 10 years Data Center facilities operations with 5 years management experience.Certified Professional Engineer (P.E.) Electrical, Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Sustainable or Development Professional (CSDP) preferred.Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.
