Director Emerging Platform Ad Strategy Media Time Warner Cable New York City

Job Description:
Reporting into the VP of Emerging Platforms, this role serves as the lead on new product launches from conception to implementation. This includes both new technological platforms (e.g. interactive video) and business platforms (e.g. automated buying). The Director of Emerging Platforms will work closely with internal technology groups as well as agency and/or industry leaders to define requirements for implementation of TWCM Emerging Platform solutions.

The Director has significant long-term impact on the product offerings of Time Warner Cable Media. This key strategic role partners with large ad agencies and/or CMOs to define the future technological needs of the advertising industry. This position will also help determine the long-term R&D investments that TWC Media may make to introduce and advance product opportunities.

Time Allocation:

75%:
The Director will work with the Emerging Platform team and various other internal teams to execute newly created technology and business solutions. This position is responsible for taking a product concept and turning it into a viable/sellable product solution/opportunity Time Warner Cable Media. This position is responsible for the heavy lifting that is required to ultimately launch new products, full footprint for all of Media. She/he oversees large product launches and motivates and develops assigned project team members across matrix lines of responsibility. The Director ensures consistent and clear communications to team members and matrix team members. They set the tone for deliverables and project standards within the department and matrix team members and they cultivate internal relationships across Media (Digital VPs, GVP of Marketing, Sales VPs).

25%:
Externally facing, the Director will work closely with large agencies to understand their needs and existing platforms. She/He will Influence industry discussions by attending, participating on, or leading panels (e.g. IAB, ANA, AAAA) with regards to emerging platforms. The Director along with the VP, will oversee and facilitate emerging platform trials/solutions with key agencies.

Qualifications

This position will require a candidate with 7 plus years in Media and advertising with 3-5 of those years in a senior role in emerging platform strategy/execution with a large ad agency or ad tech platform. A thorough understanding of the end-to-end advertising ecosystem of agency, publisher, and consumer facing technologies including ad servers, DSPs, SSPs, networks, exchanges, creative optimizers and data providers is needed. Expert knowledge of how various technologies influence the advertising “value chain”.

Travel may be required approximately 25% of the time.
