Job Description:
The Director of Direct Marketing develops and executes catalog contact strategies and annual circulation planning to position Eddie Bauer for growth, optimize direct marketing performance, and leverage the customer database to maximize ROI across all business channels.
Here's What You'll Be Doing As Our Director Of Direct Marketing
Managing the circulation planning, statistical modeling, forecasting and modeling of business scenarios
Developing direct mail and catalog contact strategies that align our floor sets and company promotions while maximizing ROI for direct marketing driven demand
Leading the direct marketing testing process including but not limited to format testing, promotional testing, cover testing, segmentation testing, and versioning strategy for different segments
Developing and managing the execution of circulation plans, budgets and strategic plans; achieving yearly goals and ensuring long-term sales and profitability of the direct marketing business
Providing weekly, monthly, and seasonal direct marketing results which includes segment performance, testing results, key trends and implications, and recommendations for continued improvement
Leading the direct marketing circulation team and finding innovative ways to maximize profitability; Analyzing testing results and recommending changes to strategy
Leading the documentation and measurement of tests, test strategies designed to improve the effectiveness of catalog circulation, multi-channel contact strategies, promotions, and creative versioning
Partnering with internal teams and external vendors to develop near and long-term strategies and execute day-to-day catalog and circulation tactics to improve results
Maintaining positive relationships and building new ones with external vendors
Evaluating and implementing growth strategies for retention, reactivation and acquisition efforts within the direct marketing channel to maximize ROI
Collaborating with leaders in marketing to identify customer segmentation strategies, campaign response measurement, and campaign/reporting needs
Managing data needs required for catalog circulation
Continually assessing, improving and evolving the current infrastructure, process and tool sets to deliver greater efficiencies, delivery and consumer insight
Testing and adapting new technologies in catalog and direct mail
Required
The Director we're seeking will be required to possess the following practical experience, skills, and education:
7 years of practical experience in a database marketing, circulation or CRM position for a large multi-channel retailer
Demonstrated experience with Database and Catalog Marketing, CRM, BI tools, Campaign Management, Social and Mobile Media
Ability to collaborate, skillfully influence and appropriately navigate challenges and make recommendations
High level of written, verbal and interpersonal skills to communicate information, ideas, procedures and processes in a logical sequence; at a level appropriate to the audience and resulting in effective working relationships
BA/BS in Marketing, Economics, Statistics or Business; MBA a plus
