As the Director, New Business Programs in the Philips Healthcare Sleep & Respiratory Care organization, you will play a leading role in the formulation and execution of innovation growth strategies outside the core business. In this highly visible position, you will lead the identification and valuation of new opportunities that offer significant market and growth potential, as well as strategic alignment for the New Business Programs portfolio. You will provide guidance to Research teams and external subject matter experts to execute investigational projects to support technical and clinical feasibility.
By developing and defending comprehensive business plans with executive management and cross-Philips partners, you will champion the vision and resourcing for these new programs. You will have accountability for multiple global, matrixed cross-functional team of project managers, marketing, technical and clinical resources through the Product Commercialization to drive creation of transformational product and service solutions. In addition, you will represent New Business Programs during the annual business planning process, portfolio and Gate reviews, together with core business marketing and engineering directors.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership of 2-5 projects at any one time, with the target of creating a $100M+ revenue portfolio three years post-launch
Define and drive new organic and inorganic portfolio growth strategies, taking into account cross-BG and cross sector opportunities and requirements. Includes leading opportunity and market investigations, proposition and business model development, fostering internal and external partnerships, and internal selling of the overall proposition to executive management
Provide guidance for Research resources to achieve early technical and clinical feasibility milestones
Drive execution of product development; includes oversight of, and partnership with, project management, product management and other cross-functional disciplines (Design, Regulatory, Quality, Finance, Clinical, Operations) as required to achieve demanding product requirements, cost, quality and launch targets
Ensure that Voice of Customer from all key customer segments (patient, physician, provider, payor) drives all key development and positioning priorities
Lead creation of comprehensive intellectual property portfolio by working directly with inventors and IP&S counsel; champion and lead licensing and acquisition activities as required
Oversee market development and commercial planning with product management to ensure optimal regulatory, clinical, economic and channel strategy elements are in place for each geographic target market; employ Marketing Excellence principles and tools
Foster and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leading clinicians, academic research and clinical centers of excellence, and venture-backed entities; Negotiate partnership agreements as required to develop or commercialize

We are looking for
REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s Degree in a science or technology discipline and 15+ years relevant experience OR Master’s Degree (preferably MBA) and 12+ years relevant experience. Relevant experience includes rotational roles in two or more of the following functions: strategy/corporate development, product or marketing management, engineering/product development, clinical, or project management.
Experience in high tech, healthcare / medical technology solutions businesses
Experience leading global, cross-functional programs within Philips Healthcare
Demonstrated experience driving global product launches
PREFERRED:
Demonstrated experience running a $100M business line, P&L experience a plus
Demonstrated experience at the director level on a multi-functional and/or global business initiative
