Bark’s Director of Global Sourcing plays a vital role in helping drive forward the development of Bark’s major products and product lines with several key internal stakeholders. The right person will take a strategic view of sourcing and build a structure and team that will dramatically improve the quality, cost, and speed to market of our products, while also helping us quickly grow into new categories.
DOODIES:
Conduct a full audit of our existing product supply chain, including thorough review of current vendor/factory capabilities, cost structure, and risk profile
Create a diversified sourcing strategy roadmap tied to our growth plans with buy-in from key stakeholders across the company
Develop and rapidly implement plan to improve product quality, cost, speed to market, and diversification of current vendor mix within 90 days of hire
Build strategic factory relationships to ensure that Bark has a best-in-class product-focused supply chain
Establish transparent reporting to help the business constantly evaluate product and supplier performance across price, speed, quality
Audit current Quality Control program and develop plan for scalable program that will ensure top-flight production methods across factory partners
PAWFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
7-10+ years of experience in global sourcing, managing time and actions, and managing the product cycle from development to PO fulfillment
Proven track record, with significant accomplishments in ownership of all sourcing activities for an established company with best-in-category products
Success in building and growing a sourcing team
Excellent communication, organizational and negotiation skills
Fluency in or Mandarin/Cantonese a plus
Expertise in time and action calendars
Strong vendor negotiation and relationship building experience.
